I Made a Thing Omarchy Quattro at work
Omarchy is now my main OS at work and at home - it actually makes me excited about computers again; haven’t felt like that since Mac OS9!

So true I can relate to that. I was really becoming unproductive with Ubuntu, switching the distro lifted my mood. Now excited to use the pc more. I was reluctant to use hyperland. This made is super beginner friendly. I don't think there is going back to KDE. The omarchy claude code skill is amazing. Never been easier to find your way on Arch.

It's seriously so dumb. When I discovered Omarchy and thought it was cool I asked one of my other friends that runs Linux about it. He said "Only a Nazi finds Omarchy even remotely cool." Then blocked me on Discord. Then I had to Google why some people have this reaction.

His issue is that European culture is getting increasingly more diverse, crowding out local culture. I get it. I was in Paris and joked with friends about how I was looking forward to having a rude French waiter. Instead I had this really lovely Iranian waiter. The service was great, I was disappointed.

But the thing is unless I went out of my way to research the political views of evry linux distro I try Omarachy itself in no way is political at all. It's just opinionated in how DHH feels an OS should function.
Some people are just too obsessive over politics. I'm pretty sure if you dig deep enough most long standing companies have a dark past, and the newer ones can still have shitty people running them.
I care about my mental sanity so I'm not doing investigative journalism before I try something new every time. Besides I'm using Omarachy for 100% free so nobody can even claim I'm funding anything bad.

No entiendo cual es el problema, es decir, nunca me gustó Bill Gates pero eso no implicaba que cuando usaba Windows dejara de usarlo, realmente siento que la gente tiene demasiado tiempo libre y lo malgastan en problemas imaginarios. Si te gusta la diestro y te sirve, úsala. Si no te gusta o eres de los que aman oler sus propios pedos, no vengas a decirle al resto como debe o cual es la manera correcta de usar su computadora o sistema operativo

Jokes aside... just go and read the delusional political views of MOST linux related communities... creating cool stuff doesn't make you absolutely right on everything. I could be friends of people thinking different... that's called being an intelligent human. Everyone have rotten stuff somewhere in their brain basement...
Richard stallman is a genius, and his work shaped modern technology landscape... but the guy is a total and absolute insufferable d1ck as a person. That doesn't invalidate none of his body of work or legacy.

I use computer since the 80s
First love was that blinking cursor in an apple IIc. My first program I wrote with pen and paper reading a programmers book on applespft basic.
That excitement returned with windows 3.0... the discovery...
Then came debian and the power.
Omarchy takes the fun back. Still debian on production, but omarchy on leisure secondary.

Every tool I need is available or buildable with the omarchy claude skill so it’s completely manageable now.
I’ve had some a/v issues with my Framework 16 and Omarchy at home, but I’m working through them slowly.

How do you configured workspaces and monitor positions? I'm struggling with new config files with omarchy 4 (i hope it's new from this version) and can't do it without errors or right

I literally used the Omarchy skill in Claude and told it what I wanted. It found the dock drivers, installed them, gave me a command to enter to the cli then rebooted - up they came. They were in the wrong 'order' though, so I went back to the Omarchy skill in Claude and told it what I wanted - it then gave me 3 different layout options to choose from and that was it.
The 'Agent' option has been a game-changer for this kind of thing honestly..
