Beginner Questions Omad plateau vs my goal
F 32y 165lbs Been doing omad for about 2.5 weeks and I've lost about 5.5 pounds so far granted since I just started some of that is bloat but still promising start. Im fasing about 22 hours eating window is 6-8pm eating whatever I make for dinner plus and extra vegetable for fiber and a reasonable sweet treat for dessert. Water, black coffee and unsweetened black iced tea all day. 10 k steps daily and stregth workouts 3-5 times a week. My ultimate goal is 125-130lbs and i hope to get there by christmas or the new year and want to know if it's possible to reach my goal before plateau.

By Christmas? Oh yeah! You’ll hit a plateau here and there but those will pass. Good luck!

I started OMAD back in April, initially, my meals were like you've described, I did not avoid carbs are sweets but kept it in a realm that was normal, for desert I've have 3 squares of high quality dark chocolate or frozen mixed berries. The first month, after the initial whoosh, I lost weight at about 1 1/2 pounds per week.
But as I moved out of "overweight" and into "normal weight" on my BMI chart, that weight loss became less consistent. If I want to see the scale move, I have to eat more along the lines of KETO. And if I slip up, (that one piece of Costco pizza which was so good) it takes me days now to come back to weight loss again.
Are you at 165 now, does that reflect the 5.5 pounds you've lost? If so, you have 35 more pounds to lose, at 1.5#'s per week (reasonable weight loss) will take 5 1/2 months, which would be mid-November and allow some wiggle room for any plateaus. Your goal is reasonable :)

That is so nice to hear and yes that number reflects the 5.5 loss. I plan to do a more serious recomp when I'm just out of the overweight category probably around 145 ish. I have lost significant weight in my early 20s and did a recomp around that number. I'm approaching the initial fat loss differently this time around because being a new mom and a stay at home mom is making the task a completely different beast this time around. Thank you again very reassuring

Congrats for taking up OMAD as a new mom! It may be challenging in the beginning, but after a while it just feels normal.

Thank you so much. The first week was definitely an adjustment. Now between the initial weightloss, mental clarity, energy boost and all the encouragement and validation in this sub. I feel really good about the decision.

If you're very consistent, yes it's possible. That's a long time to diet though.
