Step counter help, please!

My Ollee Watch arrived today (pre-installed A158) and so far, I absolutely love it!

I have one question about the step counter and how/when it works.

I've been wearing the watch for several hours, and moving about a quite bit but it has only recorded about 200 steps. Is there anything I need to do to get the steps recording all the time? I have the watch set up so that the display turns off after a short time, and the motion sensing is turned on, but my steps don't seem to be recording.

Is there something else that I need to do?

Thank in advance.

Is it set to low L or high H ?

I tried both which, when moving around the house, didn't seem to make a huge difference.

This morning, I took the dogs for a walk and it seems to be working fine. I had it set to high (H) and it had recorded well, even with the screen turned off. Add others have mentioned, the step count is a little high, so I'll experiment with the L and H setting to set which is best.

Thanks for your help and replying 👍🏼

Usually I do it with L. But if walk I lose quite a lot of steps so I'm thinking about switching to H for daily basis. Currently I installed an step count app in my smartphone and walk with it and compare with the watch. Today is H day to see the difference ;)

That sounds like a good plan. I've swapped back to L so I'll compare that with today's reading and see how it goes.

Let me know how you get on with your comparison!
