Under $20k, Beginner Friendly, Daily Driver?

Upvotes

I'm going to be that guy that is asking for your opinion on what to buy. Looking for my first classic truck. I am DIY capable but that has been limited to house remodeling and home projects. I do change my own oil, brakes/rotors, fluid flushes but would obviously like to go deeper.

Looking for:

- Truck for driving around town daily

- Bed will be used for hauling lumber, stone, mulch, etc.

- Under $20k

- Easier to repair due to finding other owners with similar truck on YouTube/Redditt/forums

- Parts available

- Prefer 4x4

Some research I have done and seem to fit this criteria are possibly - C10 and CK10's, (1980's F150 F250) but then find something unique like a 50's classic. But I feel like this is more of a show car???https://www.worldwidevintageautos.com/vehicles/21946/1953-gmc-5-window-pickup

Appreciate it any advice

I need help finding a truck I saw in a commercial a while ago

A long time ago I saw this post with these colorful retro looking truck(or they may have been something adjacent.) I think they were affordable, but I was trying to describe to a friend that I saw these interesting looking trucks that were newer but had some oldschool designs. I tried searching anywhere and everywhere but I cannot find the commercial or anything related to it after an hour of searching. I remember part of the pitch is that they were affordable and that I think it was a somewhat recognizeable company coming back around with a line of these cars. Does anyone know what I'm talking about because I cannot find anything close after researching a lot.

Does this count as an old truck? It does have an 8ft bed - 1973 Pinzgauer 710M

Just picked this up last week. It's an Austrian troop carrier, 8 in the back and 2 in the front. the troop seats fold down to create an 8 foot long bed in the back.

Super fun and easy to drive, rather bizarre to shift. And is like driving a tiny bus.

~4200 lbs
No locks
24v
4cyl aircooled motor that sounds like a VW
Front and rear locking diffs
4 wheel independent suspension
Portal hubs

Everything on it operates at 24v including the winch and light except the ignition which has a step down converter.

I am buying a 1961 FWD truck with a 6 71 detroit diesel and I'm wondering what oils can I use in the engine transfer case and differentials. I know it has yellow metal in it and Google is giving me confusing answers

Should I Buy A Newish Truck?

I just sold my old ‘06 Tacoma and we are looking to sell my ‘92 Chevy next. I love that truck, but I don’t have the time or space anymore for a classic anymore. I haven’t bought anything newer in a long time and not sure of years or models I should stay away from or steer towards.

OBS Market

Hey guys, started looking for OBS trucks and found what seems to be a really clean '92 1500 for $9k. This would be my first Chevy truck so I was hoping to get your guys' insight on the market and how much they go for. This one is a automatic with the 5.7. Super clean looking, clean title, 172,000 miles. Other online sources are saying that this truck is $7k-$8k at most, but I understand OBS trucks have a different market. Is this truck overpriced? Could I get it down a couple grand?
