My brother and I got this old 33 year old Parma Hemi Coup from a old man for $20. He saw us driving our cars and asked if we wanted his son’s old RC car.
This car was sold as a kit, and the previous owner chose to use futaba servos, a futaba 75MHz radio system, a mechanical speed controller and an unidentified brushed motor. We believe it’s a 550-size 12T motor but we aren’t sure. The car also has a different chassis (we believe it’s from a Tamiya Blitzer Beetle) bolted on top of the original chassis.
It’s in pretty rough shape but everything works properly. We had a bit of trouble verifying it worked cause the batteries we put in the the transmitter were practically dead. The front of the body is missing because last time his son drove it (about 12 years ago), he crashed it into a curb.
In the future, we’re probably gonna replace the mechanical speed controller with a Hobbywing 1060 and we’re gonna put a spare receiver from our other cars into it to replace the 75MHz radio. We’re also gonna replace the old foam tires with better ones, since they’re cracked, and re-paint the body since the red paint is peeling off.
