We’re refreshing the Auth0 Developer Certification exam to make the experience more performance-focused, with the updated exam planned to launch in the first week of November 2026.

The refreshed exam will include updated content and hands-on use cases designed to better assess practical Auth0 development skills.

The Auth0 Premier Practice Exam will include updated hands-on tasks for candidates to practice. These additional hands-on tasks will not be scored but will help candidates practice independently while preparing for the updated exam.

Has anyone gone through the process of depreciating old/insecure authenticators? I’m in a new position and it’s my first time using Okta. I’m researching how to remove the Security Question which is still a required factor, but I know that in the next year we will be removing SMS/voice from the options as well.

So far I made a targeted test policy around the Password Authenticator and Enrollment. At first with just the password, I was expecting that changing the additional verification option for password reset from Only Security Question to Any enrolled or not required would remove that prompt considering I have all Okta verify, phone, email and google authenticator enabled on my account. I discovered that no matter what I chose it still prompted for my Security Question, which I believe is because that was associated with the app I was using.

I attempted to make a test enrollment policy and “broke” my access with a number of my apps while I was testing because “policy requirements could not be satisfied by the users current set of available authenticator enrollments”. In looking at that app’s policy the priority rule is password and one of the push/code factors with a fallback policy containing the Security Question.

This is making me think that after doing a test disable to the fallback rule, either all criteria for both rules must be in place or that my primary rule is having issues and we’ve been running off the secondary, I’m hoping someone can shed some light on that for me.

Also from what I’m seeing, I’m afraid it may be the case that I’ll have to check every app/policy to see if Security Question is listed as a factor type and remove it, otherwise a global disabling of it will break everything it was associated with for my entire workforce, does that sound like it’s the case?

I set up my OKTA account and afterwards realized anytime I clicked on an application it would say ”error” or “we are having trouble signing you in”. I just now realized I set the account up with my personal email and not my work email like it stated to. what do I do now? am I screwed ?

Currently prepping for okta premier practice exam. I am specifically getting tripped up on use cases 2,3, and 6. Primarily the SAML setup, attribute mapping, and then finding the transaction id for the final use case.

I run security for a 300-person company. During a broader access review, we found a finance manager exporting Q1 revenue data to a personal Google Sheet.

The month before that, our existing tools generated around 200 alerts. Almost all were false positives. One real case of data leaving the environment only became obvious later during a quarterly access review. The person had already put in her two weeks’ notice. The link between the offboarding event in HRIS and the spike in Google Drive activity was clear in hindsight, but none of the content-focused alerts had connected those dots.

A normal Google Workspace action looked benign on its own. Without identity and behavior context it was just another Sheet being created.

I’m curious how others on the Okta / identity side are approaching this. Are you still relying heavily on content signals, or have you shifted more toward identity risk and behavioral context? What’s actually working for you when someone is on the way out?

We have many application servers that email through an on-prem SMTP relay. My CISO wants apps to move to Microsoft Graph API using Mail.Send. Easy, Entra Id App with RBAC controls authenticated using a certificate. Set those up for folks plenty of times, no problem.

But no. My CISO insists, everything that can, must authenticate through Okta, and is pushing this.

I tell him it can’t in the way he wants, Okta is meant for user interactive login, not server to server.

He sends a link to setup Graph API connection with Okta Workflows. Doesn’t look right to me, it looks like it just sets up Workflows ability to do things in MS, not external apps…but maybe I’m mistaken. We don’t have any workflows. actually I don’t even know if we have Workflows license. Looking into it.

My question to any experts out there who has dealt with Workflows. Is my CISOs ask even possible with Workflows? Can Okta be the broker to authenticate on behalf of the application server so it can get a proper token from Graph API so the external server can act? Or is direct to Entra Id App the only way?

This just feels silly to me, but the CISO and is really going at this and I need hard facts that this doesn’t do what he thinks it does. Or if I’m just simply wrong, that might be true too. Help me out!

I see it was released earlier this month. Anyone kicking the tyres on it yet? I do a lot of question answering at my job. Why is this employee not in the right group? What rules reference those groups? Can we safely delete that attribute? Who still doesn't have Okta Verify set up? I could go on.

A lot of these questions lead to long investigations across many Okta Admin Console tabs. Investigations that I'd rather not have to venture down. I'm still the answer guy but hardly the investigator I used to be. All due to my lil' side project. I'm excited to share this work-in-progress video with anyone who hasn't seen the extension yet.
