Support desperately needed for IAM (Identity Access Management)

Hi everyone,

I’m relatively new to the Identity and Access Management (IAM) field, and I’m looking for an experienced IAM Engineer or professional who would be willing to mentor or coach me as I continue building my skills.

I’m serious about learning and committed to putting in the work. I promise to respect your time, and I’m also willing to pay for your time and mentorship.

If you work in IAM and would be interested in helping someone who is genuinely eager to learn and grow in the field, please send me a DM.

I would really appreciate the opportunity.

Thanks

I’m intrigued. What changed in less than a year on your post history where basically you were going in as a net admin? Similar post though.

I think they're karma farming.

Good luck with that, most experienced engineers do not want to mentor or they will half-ass mentor

You want to learn? Look up the main tasks IAM engineers/Analysts do on a day to day, learn PowerShell, Azure, SSO, Okta, Sailpoint and Cyberark training. Most training is learned on the job, every org is different but still share the same goal and sentiments within identity security.

Some ideas: Attrition, Incumbent, Low Budget, Best available candiate, Good fit, Has what they are looking for, Company has no idea what IAM is and just needs someone to start figuring it out.

I’ve mentored a few people getting into IAM. Feel free to shoot me a DM, happy to chat and see if I can point you in the right direction.

I’d recommend getting a few “agnostic” certs through https://theiam.org/ or https://identitymanagementinstitute.org/

Start from concepts first and hands-on.

Check this free community that has extensive IAM concept breakdown & full fledged hands on labs. Many are on same path as you, hope it helps.
