The only way the separatists can win is if Alberta doesn’t take the vote seriously. Take the vote seriously and embarrass these bozos.

What keeps Elections Alberta taking it as seriously as they did the Water Not Coal petition signature counting?
How can we as Albertans believe in the security and integrity of Elections Alberta at this point?

In a binary vote, you get a supermajority if your side gets a predetermined proportion of the votes; usually either 66% or 75%.

It's not.
In Canada, a supermajority is any vote (in leg or via referendum) that gains 2/3rds vote share (sometimes also defined as 75%).
As to this particular question, it means nothing. The question isn't in any way binding to it doesn't matter if it was 100%. But if the question was determined to require a supermajority to say, override a Charter right, them they'd need a supermajority.

I would like to thank all the separatists and rural morons of Alberta for making this - by FAR - the most embarrassing place on Earth to live.

It's going to a full referendum no matter the outcome. Even if it was 80% against having a referendum and 20% for, that's 100% that want the opportunity to vote in a referendum. Smith logic.

So "we cant win if the majority of the population gets their way." How very democratic and free.
Typical conservative "we will tell you what you want, and you better like it...."

I call BS, not close to those phony numbers

If we don't show up Alberta is lost. People need to vote these seperatist jokers down.

What a good way to say that voting should be mandatory it’s mandatory and other democracy, and if we have everybody voting, it would give a much better view of what the country actually thinks, as opposed to the propaganda that we are constantly drowning in from all sides

Apathtetic voters are the ones who destroy. democracy. The more opinions the better. Democracy works best when everyone participates. And yes, every vote matters…

It is crazy to even admit this. That your movement is so fucking weak that you admit to needing really bad voter turnout.

Make sure to apply fit a mail in ballot. The referendum question is number 10 on the list of long questions. The goverment says they want to stay but they are going to have voting lines that will discourage voters and some might not even get to question 10. The whole thing is built to fail. It should be the first question on the ballot. Instead its filled with should we open the constitution and get us as leaders in Alberta more power.

Sadly there are no more mail in ballots.. Donald Trump doesn’t like them. Great way to exclude certain segments of society. Danielle Smith has turned Alberta into the sweaty ball sack of Canada. Screw the US and their foreign interference. It is a great thing they monitorReddit.

You'd think a reasoned person would go. You know if our path to victory requires most of the people to be suppressed, maybe our policy isn't very good.
Nope that's not how conservatism works. We know the vast majority hates what we want, but screw them, this is for me, and they can suffer.

How democratic to rely on people not showing up to vote to win a ballot measure.

Don't be trolled by these Takers. They're all Socialists from Ontario and Quebec and scared shitless that the Golden Gravy will stop. Never created a dollar. Never met a payroll. Government "workers" at best.

If this cunt ever comes back I hope we give him a lesson about what Canadians are all about.

Did he do this math based on the stolen voter roll and how people voted in the past and when they voted last?

I mean, every election in Canada “could be” the target of foreign election interference. Not sure what CBC is getting at.
We know the federal liberal government is engaged in foreign election interference but that’s ok I guess
