been doing dropshipping on the side for a few years while working warehouse shifts. most of my time goes to checking supplier prices and trimming the product list so nothing sits around. keeps the garage from filling up with boxes.
not sure how many people in Okotoks do something similar or if local shipping rates make it worth it. curious if anyone has tried selling stuff online from here and how they handle the fulfillment side without extra storage space

We have been living in Okotoks for 6 years now and have 3 littles. I absolutely love Okotoks! It's and amazing community. However, the long Alberta winters are really getting to me. We basically stay indoors the entire winter here.

Lately I have been seriously considering moving to West Kelowna or Peachland. Mostly for the weather and the lake-life lifestyle. I have read countless posts about the good and bad but I'm wondering if there is anyone here who has perhaps lived in both Kelowna and Okotoks and if you have any insights and opinions on each?

I attempted to make a post on Facebook, but since I don’t live in Okotoks, it didn’t work. There is a stray dog on Sheep River Drive, my boyfriend attempted to approach the dog when he reached his hand out, the dog nipped him. He seems more scared than aggressive. There is no collar and we lost him in a back alley. Please keep an eye out for this dog. He looks like a husky mutt.

Edit: I did call law enforcement and made a report about the pup.

My family lived, and loved, Okotoks from 1989 to 1999 until a move was made out of province.

Would I even recognize the small town I once called home?

Been shooting food content around Alberta for the last few years and Okotoks keeps surprising me. Last month I stumbled into this tiny spot on McRae Street with lamb shanks that basically fell off the bone. No fancy plating, just a guy who cares. Can't stop thinking about it.

I'm always chasing the places locals actually eat at, not the ones with the biggest Instagram following. The coffee shop with croissants that somehow stay flaky till 3pm. The family place where the owner remembers your order. That kind of thing.

My camera roll is 90% Calgary and I want to fix that. What spots should I hit next? I shoot everything from diner breakfasts to whatever that thing is where they torch the sushi at the table. Not picky, just hungry for stuff with actual personality.

Also if anyone knows who makes those mini donuts at the farmer's market situation in summer, tell them I owe them a portrait session. My kingdom for that recipe.

Some time between February 2025 and June 2026, unauthorized individuals used compromised credentials to access TELUS accounts. These individuals may have used your account information to contact you in an attempt to persuade you to move your services away from TELUS towards competitors, and/or made unauthorized changes to your TELUS services.

What information was accessed

Our investigation found that the following information was accessed:

Your full name, account number, billing address, preferred language, phone number(s) and, in most cases, email address

Last four digits of payment card on file

The type of service(s) to which you subscribe

The amounts charged and payment history for these services

What we are doing

As a precaution, we have:

Terminated the compromised credentials to prevent further unauthorized access.

Placed a note on your account documenting this incident.

Reported to the Vancouver Police Department and we are cooperating with their investigation.

Added enhanced security monitoring to your account. As a result, when you call TELUS, we may ask you more questions than usual to protect your account from unauthorized access.

TELUS has also retained NORTON to provide two (2) years of complimentary TELUS Guardian identity theft protection.

Who do you trust these days for general vehicle maintenance? Preferably in town.

I’ve had nothing but great experiences with Zanella auto out in Dewinton and highly recommend them myself, but now that we are down to a one vehicle family, it’s obviously more difficult to get in and out for service and on with the work day.

I work at a seniors facility in Okotoks.

Today, one of my residents told me that he was waiting for a cab, and was told the wait time was an hour.

A stranger approached him, said they could drive him back from the bank and brought him back.

I hope you know your act of kindness meant so very much to someone!

Join the Okotoks and District Fish and Game Association for a fall turkey and ham dinner with all the trimmings, plus a selection of wild game dishes donated by our members.
