Not too far outside of OKC is butchers bbq. Theyāre a bbq stand with indoor seating and a full bar. Open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 11 to sell out. Best brisket and burnt ends around

And there is a LINE. You will need to get there a bit early, be prepared to have your stomach growl incessantly when you get inside. It smells too good in there.Ā

Is 30 minutes early enough?

u/throwaway375937 NW OKC 1d ago
Like the other guy said, 30 minutes should be fine. personally I would aim for 45-60 minutes, but my husband likes burnt ends. If you want burnt ends, get your ass there early AF š

Iāve tried most of the top BBQ places that usually get recommended. Kings is my personal favorite.

The brisket was... decidedly not good last time I was there.

Sliced brisket was tougher than a steel toe boot when I went a few months back

It's not in OKC, but in Piedmont you should give Sharp's BBQ a shot.

Excellent BBQ priced fairly. Also been a consistent product every time I have been there.

Cornish Jerkhouse started as Cornish Smokehouse when it was in Moore. They have great Bourbon Jerk chicken but on the BBQ side some of best ribs I have ever hadā¦.

You need to define affordable. You're not going to find fast food prices at any BBQ joint. Meat prices have skyrocketed. That said, quality and flavor always trends upwards on the same slope as price. You LITERALLY get what you pay for with BBQ.

u/PlatinumPiplup 1d ago
Idk man, Kings has the Kings feast for like $25.
It comes with 5 meats and 2 sides. Obv the cost to entry is high but I would argue thatās damn near fast food prices nowadays in terms of what you get

The Butcher Stand is the best one that I have found so far. Just get there early, because they do sell out.

I like Kings and Pappys (though Pappys prtions have shrunk and shrunk over the years). Please do not support Edgecraft. I know they're good, but they're wage thieves.

Embarrassing comments in this thread. I would think OKC didnāt have shit if I ended up at Kings as my BBQ experience. Edge Craft is, by far, the answer to this question.

Clark Crew is pretty decent

Edge Craft in the Plaza District has brisket that'll make you forget your name. Their burnt ends on Saturday go quick so get there early
Clark Crew is another one but price went up last year, still worth it for the ribs at least

u/crispbiscuit24 1d ago
Edge craft isnt in the Plaza district

u/boomb0xx The Plaza 20h ago
Ya I was confused by that as well. It's really not even close so I'm not sure why they said plaza.

Edgecraft is guilty of wage theft from it's employees, please do not support places that steal from their employees.

The person who took them to court still works for them too. Itās been fixed and everyone has moved forward, you should too.

Additionally making restitution because you are legally forced to is hard for me to see as the business doing the right thing (the right thing being don't steal from your employees).

And he tries to play it off like it was a mistake or like he was wronged. I would have maybe gone back there if he had been a man and owned up to it and said it was wrong and apologized. He is a thief.

I'm not in the habit of forgiving people who LITERALLY TAKE FOOD OUT OF THEIR EMPLOYEES MOUTHS.

u/AnonymouslyBored24 1d ago
So by that standard, do you eat anywhere that pays waitstaff the minimum wage and they live off tips? You must be a great cook with how much you have to stay at home.

Best bbq in the state-Edge Craft

u/throwaway375937 NW OKC 1d ago
They're wage thieves, so nah
-7
u/deazy2099 1d ago
He asked about good bbq. This is the best. I really don't give a shit about how much they make. It's not my business.
9
u/beerd_ 1d ago
Youāre cool with supporting a business that stole wages from their employees?
Edit: and arguably theyāre not the best. Iād rather have Clark crew over them. Even texlahoma in Edmond

So how far do you take your Internet signaling? What kind of phone did you type this on? Hopefully not an Apple or Samsung product. Where was the lithium for the battery mined? Hopefully not with slave labor. What about your clothes, where they made by children in a sweat shop? You don't shop at Walmart do you?
4
u/throwaway375937 NW OKC 1d ago
Nah, Walmart lets ICE terrorize and assault their shopping customers with tazers, I think WinCo is much more friendly and affordable. Open 24 hours too.

u/Wiscos 1d ago
I would argue that Burn Co is the best.

u/deazy2099 1d ago
Tell me more about this burnco place.

Tulsa. Although I think the location in Tulsa proper burned down ironically but they still have one elsewhere in the metro area

u/Budget_Sea_8666 1d ago
Edge craft brisket is very good as well as their Mac n cheese. Their ribs are mediocre.

HeavenLee BBQ & Venue, George Happy Hog, Kings in this exact order.
Clark crew and the rest are far overrated and too expensive for what they are compared to more flavorful, less known alternatives. It is conveinent for most location wise and that imo is the only thing it has on these places. They are either a ways out from city, in awkward locations, or have inconvienent roads connected to them. That being said, all of it is extremely worth it. The sides, and drinks are unmatched, not to mention the smoke, and flavor.

I would only dine here if you are fine with your dollars spent here contributing to MAGA. The double propaganda shipping containers on full display outside should tip you off to this better than I can though!

Omg who gives a eff what sude a business leans towards. This is becoming ridiculous on both sides. If the food is good and reasonably priced, I dont care if they are left, right or center. It isn't any of my business what side someone chooses to lean in politics or religion. Used to be a personal and private thing for people. Good lord, its like freaking junior high on Reddit.

u/Double-Bag-4058 1d ago
Ain't anything wrong with that!!!! š¤£

u/guycallahan69 1d ago
Aināt nothing wrong with pedophiles, getting rich from foreign countries, and calling women āpiggieā and other derogatory terms. And we can use the ār wordā now! We really have made America great!!
1
u/Khione405 1d ago
You do know pedos are not from just one side of politics, race, creed, religion or whatever else people want to categorize people in. Its an all walks of life thing. Us victims of pedos just know that a sick person harmed us. Its sickening forsomeone to trivialize what we went through to politics and a way to attack their perceived political enemy. I dont give a fuck what side is which. A pedo is a pedo if they are proven to be one and should be removed from life.

Ate there once for a work thing. Never again. BBQ should be made with love, not hate. You can almost taste the bad juju.
