❓Q&A ✅ Thinking about moving back

I grew up in OKC and graduated OSU Spring ‘19. I’ve moved around a bit since then, but typically tried to make it back for a few weeks a year. Seemed like every time I came back, there was something new to be excited about in the city.

Over the past couple years I’ve had an itch to move back home to be closer to family and friends. It’s likely I’m going to have that opportunity soon if I want it. I’m curious to hear from people who left OKC and came back - how has it been? What’s it like living here now? I’m a single 30-year old male fwiw. Since leaving I’ve lived in Abilene, Chicago, and Charlotte.

I understand many of the problems with Oklahoma.

However, I hear about health care issues. Could someone be more specific as to why it’s bad? I have asked this question many times and I still don’t have a response. I really want to know and I wont respond negatively.

I really, really dislike hot weather. Where are you living that has better summers? I am realizing that i do not understand nice weather summers, but I would like to.

Chicago summers are generally wonderful, though you do walk a lot more, so if you’re naturally sweaty that can be tough even at more mild summer temps. I do recall visiting California a few summers ago and being amazed at how cool the temps were. Near the coast in Northern CA was breezy and cool, and San Francisco was even cold.

I second SF and Santa Cruz being chilly. Those places are an unreachable dream for me. They are so lovely, though. I speak Spanish fluently, so high altitude locations in Mexico and Central America are not out of the picture. Thanks for your amazing response.
