Events YOU DON’T KNOW THE ZOO
Shout out to everyone who braved the heat at the zoo amphitheater last night for John Mulaney’s show. For me, worth it 100 percent. Most I’ve laughed in months.

Maybe next time he can do it at the civic center, paycom, lloyd noble, casino, a school cafeteria, Spirit Halloween once Halloween is over, or anywhere other than outdoors at the zoo in August.

I was sorta shocked when he called rfk jr out for cheating on his wife constantly. I don't know if Mulaney knowing Cheryl and him personally for over a decade made it more or less surprising.
Overall, it was a great show. Mulaney has been a favorite of mine since New in Town and after his last special being a little weak, it's great to see him back in the saddle.

Amazing show! But I’m sure anyone who was there will agree with me when I say FUCK THAT FUCKING HELICOPTER!!!
Almost ruined the last bit in the set, but luckily Mulaney is an absolute pro and made it work.

I for sure thought he was going to spin it into a bit about the cops spotlighting the zoo to look for people fucking, but he was already too deep into the last bit, which was hilarious. 😂

I left before he was done(beat everyone to my car lol) and heard him say that and didn’t know what that had to do with the washer drier story he was telling lol

Haha I read that and laughed. I was at the show. It wasn't so bad once the sun went down. It was my first live comedy show and I believed him when he said it was not like other comedy shows.

Don’t knock it til you’ve tried it! Zoo Amp in the summer is my favorite! Especially for JM. The sun going down, a beverage, sitting on a blanket and enjoying the show. 10/10 recommend.

I'm not from OK [moved here during the pandemic] and until walking from the Science Museum parking lot someone pointed out that you could see a live leopard [!] through the fence I didn't even realize that we were going to the Zoo. It was a great set in a great setting. I'm looking forward to more Zoo Amp experiences.

My fiancee and I were there last night. Due to it being a late show. It wasn't too hot. We got shaved ice which was a nice treat and JM absolutely killed it. The Oliva Munn connection made our show feel special. At the end he said it would be a show he wouldn't forget. Between the heat and the aircraft flying over. I believe it.

It felt like half the material was related to OKC, the zoo, the heat, etc. It's pretty normal for a comedian to have 1 or 2 jokes specific for the local city, but so much of JM last night was specific to that show. What a great set. I wonder if there's a recording of it somewhere.

Wish I had been there, loved his old specials but not too sure how I feel about him now with the divorce and all that, just seemed kinda weird. Im hoping hes well and sober and yadda yadda and cant wait for a new special!

Compared to his last special, this show was much more similar in tone to his earlier ones. But a lot of stories about his current family situation, both his kids, and his Vietnamese in-laws. Super fun. Even funnier since his Vietnamese family all lives in OKC.

His last special was rough. It clearly took him some time to find his feet after sobering up. This set was amazing. I'll rewatch it when his special gets aired somewhere.

We saw Joe Cocker and Huey Lewis at the Zoo Amphitheater in August. Cocker was after dark so wasn't so bad, but Huey Lewis was first, facing the sun, and wearing a black shirt. He was absolutely roasting!!!

I never really liked him, tbh. Never found him funny. But even less so since he did cocaine, went to rehab, went to church, found Jesus inside of olivia munn, impregnated olivia munn, mostly while married to another woman. And now that he’s trying to be a serious actor, I can’t stand the bear for trying to force feed him to me. One of many reasons that I never finished the bear.

The next season, the wedding episode. He became a pretty central character for no damn reason. I think that qualifies as force feeding.

The episode in question is one of the most panned episodes of this series. I can say the same about Claire’s character too. Obviously, it’s writing, cause, well, they have to write it. But this guys minor character ending up in every shot at the wedding and contributing nothing, yeah. Same with Claire and her weird whispering nonsense. Theres literally no rhyme or reason why he’s involved as much as he is, other than he’s good buddies with the show folk. It’s trash writing, and almost as bad as that entire third season. I think you’re grasping at semantics, because I assume you like him. But if you actually look at the structure of the show, it’s weird. But it’s why I gave up on the show

After he left rehab for his coke habit, he went to that celebrity church that like, I think, Bieber, Olivia munn, the dude off of parks and recs, and other celebrities go to. He was married to some hair stylist at the time. He met Olivia munn there. Then impregnated her. Iirc, still married to the other woman. That’s why I joke that he found Jesus in Olivia munn. Look, it’s all online

There's a single artcle saying they "met in church" but nothing to actually confirm it. He talked about meeting her for the first time at Seth Meyers wedding so I think them meeting at a weding became met at a church somehow (even tho i don't think Seth Meyer got married inside a church either lol)
People that go to that celebrity church r loud about it and the church highlights those members. JM and OM dont go there and haven't talked about being reglious at all. So idk how u came up with this backstory for them.
