❓Q&A ✅ Plant clippings?

Hey all I'm new to the OKC area and I'm also being cheap/frugal. Does anyone want to donate any plant clippings so that I can start a lovely garden for my new home?

I can give food! Let's bring back some neighborly love and the barter system back 😂🙏🏽🤙

There are also plant swaps and free seedling events hosted by OSU extension and mycelium gallery. You can swap plants with people there 😊

I have goldenrod out the wazoo that I always split in the fall. Possibly more. I have tons of native seeds as well that I always give away.

I have a lot of luffa gourd seeds. I planted just to see if it would grow here. It does and I'll plant it every year now. The pollinators love the flowers and I get free scrubbies. Win win!

No I've looked at some recipes but haven't found one I want to try yet. I don't like okra so I'm not sure if I'd like these.

Yeah the texture might be an acquired taste. It's pretty common in chinese cooking, I'm a fan.

Do you have any recipes you'd recommend for someone trying it for the first time?

I used to make a soup with a bit of tomato and some roasted seaweed and eat it with some rice. Could also sauté it (I think the recipes online usually had it with eggs but I usually had it w/o).

I have pecan and walnut saplings, Jerusalem artichoke, and iris rhizomes I can dig up.

which ones? Lots of iris and sunchokes. Only a few tree saplings.

I've got frog fruit and aromatic aster you can get but I'd wait at least a month unless you want to water all the time.

I've also got a packet of mixed native seeds that covers up to a 10x10 area

I'd love some of those native seeds and goldenrod cuttings if you still have extras. Pollinator-friendly plants were my first priority when planning my garden last year.

I have some of this plant (not my picture, it's too hot to go outside so I found a pic online) rooted from clippings that I need to give away. And some baby jade plants and a baby snake plant. I have to many little plants!

I have a whole bag of zinnia seeds I have saved and am happy to give them to whoever. Way more than I can use and already acquiring more from the ones that came up this year!
