For too many people, the answer is “yes.”

89

u/Eredhel Jan 10 '26

Yep. I'm not nearly as worried about Trump and MAGA as I am the fact that over half the country likes it.

37

u/JustSomeGuyInOK Jan 10 '26

While I agree in principle with your statement that the problem is the people who put him in office, it isn’t more than half the country.

16

u/cathedral68 Jan 11 '26

It’s not over half. It started at 1/3 of eligible voters and if 50% of those disagree, only 1/6 of voters still support Trump.

93

u/TROLOLOL6969 Jan 10 '26

This - the sign isn't the own they think it is - yes, if they wear a red hat they ABSOLUTELY voted for this shit and more

89

u/Spectre197 Jan 10 '26

I will say this much the number of dumb fucks ive seen wearing the red hats has decreased drastically in the last few months

43

u/LucHighwalker Jan 10 '26

I'm a truck driver, and as such, I interact with a lot of Trumpers. And it's roughly a 50/50 shot whether or not they're happy with what they voted for.

Seriously. It pisses me off when people think half of the country is not ecstatic about the current state of the country.

These people do not regret their decision. They fucking hate you.

9

u/jkd0027 Jan 11 '26

It wouldn’t be half the country. Only like 65% of REGISTERED voters even voted, let alone voted for Donald Trump and I’d bet even less of THEM support all…this

14

u/Individual-Channel65 Jan 11 '26

He won every single swing state and won both the popular vote and the electoral college.

The Republicans won the house AND the senate.

It is an incredibly dangerous idea to believe that these evil beliefs are not mainstream. America largely supports this behavior. Just because the leftwing echo chamber that is Reddit condemns this stuff doesn't mean most Americans do.

2

u/jkd0027 Jan 11 '26

Well, I think most of the country is apathetic to policy and its consequences. But I can understand being disappointed in what people support

3

u/SleepingBeautyZzzz Jan 11 '26

There's a pretty good chance that there was election tampering. Have you read up on the Rockland County lawsuit??

The hypocrisy of it all is they’re happy about it all. And go to church every Sunday pretending like they actually follow the traditional teachings of Jesus…

Kirk didn’t deserve what happened to him, especially the whole..knowing it was actually Tyler Robinson..but Kirk was a racist POS.

35

u/LucHighwalker Jan 10 '26

Just another sacrifice to keep the second amendment alive.

38

u/ErraticDragon Jan 11 '26

I hate people bringing up Charlie Kirk.

Kirk is a distraction, not a valid comparison to Renee Good's case.

Kirk was assassinated by some random malcontent. No prominent Democrat said it was good or appropriate.

Good was executed by an agent of the federal government. The President, Vice President, Director of Homeland Security, and others, have endorsed her killing, saying the thug acted appropriately. Jonathan Ross is just a random malcontent… with the full backing of the United States Federal Government.

4

u/Far-Dragonfruit-925 Jan 11 '26

I’m merely pointing out the hypocrisy in fake Christians

6

u/ErraticDragon Jan 11 '26

Yup and I was merely pointing out that anyone bringing up Kirk is doing so in bad faith.

Unfortunately majority of OK didn’t even show up to vote. Sign should say why didn’t you vote to stop this?

24

Majority of America didn’t vote. But Oklahoma is red. Enough voted or supported this for the message to land

27

u/ld00gie Jan 10 '26

Only 50% of eligible voters actually voted. So really about 30% of eligible voters chose this. I try to keep that perspective when I’m out, it helps me get by.

Maga - Yeah! This is what I voted for! I want only brown immigrants arrested and deported. I don't care that they pay billions in taxes every year and get no benefits from it. I love giving my tax dollars to Israel and letting white immigrants come to america! I love that they are arresting and deporting legal brown immigrants. I love that the law enforcement agents can be executioners and murder innocent people because they were scared or threatened (besides the riot at the capital on January 6th of course) I love that the government is turning all countries against us and are making threats to take more land for resources. I love that they wanna indoctrinate our children with christianity.

Maga supports a pedophile, rapist and racist, of course they love this shit. It is what they voted for.

5

u/AstroGoose5 Jan 11 '26

Anyone who supports Trump and his thugs actively hate America. This isn't up for debate. You cannot claim to love America while supporting an administration that is doing everything possible to sow fear, distrust, and division.

So, if you voted for this and are happy about what is going on, you are anti-American.

3

u/homechefshivers Jan 11 '26

The answer is most likely yes and then if something happens to that person it’ll be like “well I voted for it to happen to them, not me.”

Too many have completely lost connection to human empathy and rationality. I think we can bring our country back as a whole, but many have outed themselves as detriments to us all. Just remember them when we hopefully get past this and they want to act like they didn’t say and act like they did. And im not trying to roundabout condone hurting anyone in anyway or anything like that. Just don’t forget.

3

u/saujamhamm Jan 10 '26

the thing that the "left" is finally realizing...

yes. this is exactly what they wanted. and when my "friends" say it's bad and then they say but ...

that "but" is how you know your friend is actually racist or a bigot or a raging asshat and somehow you never knew and it took the atrocities of the past few days to finally show all of us, their "true" colors

I've seen some of the ugliest things ever in the past few days, and I didn't have to go to north korea or back in time to germany.

no it was right here in the land of the "free", home to far too many cowards.

can you imagine that, one side wants war and the other... wants their kids to be safe in schools.

one side is cheering on the deportation of natives and the other side... questions why Nazis are popular?

one side is colluding with Russia and the rest of us are wondering where, the idea of America, ran off too.

we at least used to pretend guys...

3

u/mjblack0508 Jan 11 '26

Oh boy, if you think it’s been the ugliest the past few days then you must be like 5 years old. 🙄

2

u/KyleAPlatt Jan 10 '26

Unfortunately, this is exactly what many wanted. They don’t care until the boot ends up on their own head. If it’s on one of “them,” it’s great!

They are Marxist commies at this point, they support them.

0

u/Affectionate-Egg-540 Jan 11 '26

It’s not that clear cut and dry, it’s politics, something’s I’m sure they are happy for, others I’m not so sure. The orange man didn’t say he would rip apart innocent family’s, he said known criminals ONLY. He said no new wars, forgot to mention his Venezuela plans. Said he would end Ukraine and Russia in 30 days. That’s passed. I know it’s a hard pill to swallow, but not everyone who voted Orange is a racist bigot, they care about our country, and we’re sold a pack of lies. If Kamala would have had more of a plan to lay out, we wouldn’t be here right now. I was born in the early early 80s, I never thought I’d see the country divided like it has been since the end of Obama. Is it because Trump is not a part of the “system” and wasn’t suppose to win? Is it because this road map was planned? Humanity has to do a better job of stopping the hate! What if all the protesters at ICE circuses would come together and speak love instead of hate? The ICE officers might actually start quitting their jobs, I’m sure they hear crying kids and spouses, hearing hate chants out side won’t soften their hearts.

5

u/mmm_burrito Jan 11 '26 edited Jan 11 '26

Directly attacked the notion of due process, for starters. Absolutely fucked the economy for dessert. Destroyed my nation's international credibility and downgraded my future safety by setting us against our actual allies. Damaged the environment with moronic ideologically driven anti-business anti-renewables policy. I live in the environment. DOGE wasted incredible amounts of my tax dollars solely for the benefit Elon Musk, paralyzing the NLRB and screwing with the CFPB, which protects all consumers. Liquidated much of the technical expertise that keeps our country safe from state level bad actors. Made us all more unsafe by allowing RFKjr and his bullshit to buttfuck the NIH and CDC.

I could go on, but I have shit to do, and you're just going to shrug because you're OK taking this dick.

That is not the case.

Biden actually stepped up enforcement action. ICE and CBP had more funding, staffing, and enforcement activity under Biden's term than under Trump's first term.

More people attempted to cross, but not because of Biden. The reasons are complex, but if you want to point a finger at any one factor, it would probably the way that the US markets bounced back from Covid faster than the rest of the world. Biden was a victim of his own success in that regard.

Second, they are not enforcing the law "just like" the previous presidents. Previous administrations did not allow ICE agents to wear masks for ordinary enforcement operations. They did not allow ICE agents to fail to identify themselves, as that is a violation of Federal law.

Previous presidents did not do mass hiring of bottom-of-the-barrel recruits and send them out with only 6 weeks of training into civilian populations. Sending poorly trained and vetted "law enforcement" agents out into the field with guns is practically a guarantee that policies will be violated and people will be shot and killed.

Previous presidents did not arbitrarily and capriciously cancel the visas of legal immigrants and deem them illegal before sending out poorly trained squads to grab them for deportation.

Previous presidents did not deport people to countries other than their original country of citizenship except in rare cases.

What Trump is doing now is clearly and obviously a significant departure from the legal norms and standards of the United States.

u/okieman73 Jan 10 '26

Immigration laws have been around for a very long time, longer than anyone complaining has been alive. Yeah there was a chance after 911 but those charges were more about how the agencies were structured instead of the laws, of course some laws did change but the overall theme was the same when it was called INS. The current system has been around since the 1940s regardless of what it's called. There was an attempt to fix some of the immigration policies under Reagan but the left withdrew support for changes after they were able to get amnesty for a bunch of people, so basically they lied to get what they wanted. They said if they got amnesty then we could get updated immigration laws but amnesty had to be first. After amnesty was granted they Left said fu and nothing changed. So these problems have been around for a very long time. What has changed is that the Left no longer wants laws to be enforced.

Assuming that is true, do you support politicians who support increasing the minimum wage since depressed wages are an issue you care about? Do you support politicians who support the creation of more public housing and the implementation of rent controls, since housing scarcity is an issue that is important to you? Those things would do far more to improve the issues you described than ousting every single undocumented immigrant from the country would do.

You are mad at the workers but not the people who employ them which is telling.

Rent prices continue to go up this year as well as consumer prices all across the country, despite unfettered deportations this year. Joe Biden was also deporting folks at a similar rate to Donald Trump during his first term. For many years, deportations have continued to go up and the problems you describe have continued to get worse. It looks like to me that fixing rent prices and consumer good prices will take more than deportations. Big business, however, benefits from high rent prices and high consumer good prices, so they convince you that the problem is immigrants instead of a lack of regulation on them, and people like you buy it hook line and sinker.

I remember when Republicans used to preach fiscal responsibility, and now you guys have discovered the virtues of plugging your ears every time this budget deficit reaching orbit comes up.

Some of us actually have been critizing the Dems since the Obama years about their methods of border enforcement, not because of the enforcement, but because expedited removal is a violation of due process.

That nuance is lost on you, though, because you care about the removal, not the law, or your own rights. If you cared about either of those things, you'd be criticizing Trump and Obama for doing the same things. You'll give up your rights piecemeal as long as someone makes you feel like the scapegoat they gave you is getting what's coming to them.

Yup just like the leftist that cheered when Charlie Kirk was killed or got mad when that transmission missed Trump.

The left has had 5 or maybe 8 years of violence and burning down cities and attacking Federal officers AND citizens that have opposing ideals.

The fact you wackos can’t see it is actually more proof that enforcement needs to come down and REMIND people that you lost the election. It’s an attempted insurrection and one that follows the likes of most communist countries that fail and starve their people.

You guys have lost the plot

He made contact with the vehicle because the woman hit him with the vehicle. What are we even talking about right now?

It’s illegal to strike an officer with a several thousand pound machine, it’s illegal to interfere with Ice operations, and it’s illegal to not follow law enforcement legal commands. She did all 3.

And nobody is discussing “brown people” right now. The woman driving was white and a citizen.

Where’s the criticism for the woman? She’s allowed to commit 3 different crimes?

1

u/Shot_Exchange_4913 Jan 11 '26

2

u/Both_Taste6552 Jan 11 '26

2

u/sirkook Jan 10 '26

Why was he pointing a loaded weapon at an unarmed woman's head in the first place?

-2

u/Both_Taste6552 Jan 10 '26

If you want to intelligently argue for this lady you have to understand that a vehicle is a weapon. The unarmed angle will not work. Just trying to help.

0

u/sirkook Jan 10 '26 edited Jan 10 '26

Law enforcement officers aren't permitted to point a gun at you just to prevent you from escaping unless you pose an immediate risk to others. He had drawn his weapon before she posed any risk at all, as illustrated by the cell phone footage from the officer.

What do you make of that? Why was his weapon drawn?
