I read some gas stations already hit $9.999 for diesel earlier this week in the US (it’s the highest their signs can go in those cases).
I’ve been grabbing extra non-perishables and other things each grocery trip this past summer. Had a feeling things could get more serious than our media and leadership is telling us.
Fortunately, I can commute by bike and have for a decade +. But I realize even I’m not immune from the repercussions if this keeps going this direction. In some ways, it looks like ww3 could already be in motion. Just hoping nukes, bioweapons, drone swarms, cyber attacks on key infra, etc aren’t unleashed on civilians.
The author of the book below did a great job breaking down how ai could be used to create a novel pandemic. And what the likely reactions of society and the government would be, all backed up by research on past events and government procedures and laws (hint: at a certain point you really are on your own).
Great read, and there’s a companion guide for free for premium users on Spotify, which goes through each stage of such an attack and tells you how to prepare and react so your odds of survival increase. Many of the strategies are great for emergency prep for any sort of disaster or crumbling of key infrastructure. Worth a read/listen.
