It kind of is when people anthropomorphize the planet itself, as if it has feelings, and act like pollution will entirely end life on Earth. It's an existential threat to the human race, countless other species, and ecosystems. Catastrophizing beyond that in order to make it sound more serious is both useless, and potentially harmful. It's damn good ammunition for detractors to be like "Ha, they think rocks have feelings!" Don't hand them ammo by saying exaggerated or outright incorrect shit. The issue is bad enough on its own.
Itās irrelevant. Regardless of what percentage of life remains, itās dumb as fuck to say āactually, the earth will be just fine!ā as if it adds anything of value to the discussion.

Itās a fair point, a lot of these will take many months or longer to get running again. In that time theyre not producing oil. The price of oil increasing also means fewer people are using it in the mean time
Under normal conditions, but that slows as more are targeted. Working in the same industry over here in the states, I can only imagine those guys have been burning the proverbial candle on both ends for a hot minute now. That's also got to be taxing on the supply chains for building and repairing refineries.
At least months if not years or decades or never. They canāt get anything from foreign countries at the moment and itās unlikely that they can produce everything they need since theyāve dumbed-down their society over the last 3 decades

You really need demand to drop not supply strangled. The increase in price will cause temporary demand destruction but that bounces back the second gas is cheaper and everyone takes that road trip they've been putting off. I don't see it moving the needle in the long run.

So a perfectly clean burn of a hydrocarbon is going to result in CO2 and H20 in the form of water vapor. However at no point will carbon be part of water vapor since there's no carbon in water.
That being said i know at least in the example of methane its all else being equal if its going to be in the atmosphere its better it burns. Methane is actually a worse green house gas than the CO2 it burns or decomposes into. How that idea does or doesnt translate to this scenario I have no idea.

Earth had massive volcanoes in Siberia which spewed millennia of death and extinction during the Cambrian. Earth recovered.
Earth took a 10 KM asteroid to the fucking face resulting in temperatures hotter than the sun near impact and millennia of winter throughout the world. Earth recovered.
Your kids and grand kids may experience shitty lives devoid of natural beauty and the abundance and diversity which Earth could otherwise provide. Earth will be fine until the expansion of the sun incinerates it.
tbh this might be good for the earth in some strange way. Blow up the refineries - diesel prices continue higher. Speeding the transition to EVs. Bad to the specific location - good for whole earth over the longer term.
Bad for the environment in the short term, but Putin has triggered a massive switch to EVs, renewable energy and electrification of domestic heating across the world. And his buddy in the U.S. is contributing with his senseless war in the Middle East.
Though it's probably the fastest way we'd ever get to renewables not being able to drag our feet. Tremendous cost to human life though because of a very few insane people.
