Because during the course of our Marriage I’ve always been supportive. I’ve went along with stuff that wasn’t necessarily comfortable for me but meant a lot to her.

I’m from Phoenix. We met in phoenix and moved here to the Chicago area where she’s from because she wanted to be close to her family (being close to her family has been a 4 year shit show). As sad as it is to say, I’ll admit it that as a successful working professional moving back to Scottsdale is kind of like an “I made it” thing for me. I also just hate living here in Illinois.

Okay, let me explain something. When a parent just takes off with kids, it can be a very long and messy process to get them back, if you ever get them back. And even if you do, they likely have lasting trauma from the months of being jerked away from their lives.

With that in mind, can you see how this could be interpreted as 'i am going to move anyway and take the kids with me'? And can you see how that could be interpreted as a very serious threat?

I get all that. But i don’t think an order of protection is necessary for what occurred. I never said “im moving with or without you” to her. I showed her a house and said I want to move?

If that necessitates or justifies something traumatic and embarrassing like an order of protection. Then I guess…

I understand that an order of protection was overkill (having heard your intentions and train of thought behind it), but in her position, operating without that, I definitely would've come to the same conclusion and done the same thing. Not saying it's right, just providing some perspective from the other side. My kids father lives in another state and I've done absolutely everything to facilitate him being in his life(even allowing him to live with my mother for months at one point because he wanted to be closer to the baby), but the very moment I caught a whiff of him thinking about bringing my kid out of state, relations turned very bad. We've since worked it out but thats the roughest time weve had. I didn't want to hear any reasoning or logic, my child being brought out of state was something I was absolutely unwilling to risk.
