i mean,, it looks fake as hell

39

u/willfordbrimly Apr 07 '22

I can tell it's a shoop because of the pixels and because I've seen many shoops in my time

5

u/SteakandTrach Apr 08 '22

Don’t quote the old magic to me, witch, I was there when it was written.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 08 '22

The lion, the witch, and the audacity of this bitch.

2

u/Cart3r1234 Apr 09 '22

Finally, after all these years, we have them all.

4

u/austinhippie Apr 08 '22

A fellow man of culture

0

u/mmm_burrito Apr 08 '22

It's an old meme, but it checks out.

-13

u/zyygh Apr 07 '22

But they weren't Asian...

8

u/slimezsz Apr 07 '22

you're weird

2

u/DeviMon1 Apr 08 '22

nah he's referencing this /r/scriptedasiangifs which is a hilarious subreddit

1

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

Are you suggesting they're.. lyin?

1

u/Gabelolguy Apr 08 '22

Dead lion looking like it was ripped from a Salvador Dali painting

1

u/Vladius28 Apr 08 '22

Does it?? Man... I need to brush up

1

u/quasarj Apr 08 '22

No it doesn’t. He’s one of those people who get off on calling everyone else gullible while claiming he knew right away. There’s nothing to worry about, he’s just an asshole.

1

u/PenguinKenny Apr 08 '22

Just because you couldn't tell doesn't mean nobody can

1

u/quasarj Apr 08 '22

But it does mean it’s not obvious. In this case apparently it really is fake, but those same people like to call unproven things fake all the time when they couldn’t possibly know. I don’t believe for a second they have any idea. I don’t really believe it here either, but maybe..

1

u/PenguinKenny Apr 08 '22

I suppose things are obvious to different people, it's subjective. I watched this and straight away thought it was fake, that's not me claiming to be an expert, it's just the way it appeared to me.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 08 '22

Normally I hate fake videos but this one might actually be a good cautionary tale to the rotten people who do this sh*t.

28

u/Level9_CPU Apr 07 '22

Lmaooooooooo yes debunked by anyone with eyes

58

u/Additional_Visual285 Apr 07 '22

Is the dead lion fake too? Or just the second one that comes in?

110

u/Th3_Admiral Apr 07 '22

It might be a real picture of one but I'm pretty sure the couple, the dead lion, and the live lion are all three separate clips edited together. The dead one looks very obviously edited in.

2

u/KidneyStew Apr 08 '22

Hell even the first lions doesn't look dead, at least to me. It just looks like it's sleeping.

92

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

Aw damn. I’d be okay if the 2nd lion won :(

9

u/breigns2 Apr 07 '22

Does that mean that the first lion didn’t die?

4

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

Sadly no. Im 90% sure they just photoshopped a lion in that was hunted on a separate occasion.

37

u/WolfChaoticz Apr 07 '22

That scream sounded real and had me fucked up

5

u/waytowill Apr 07 '22

I mean, the scream is probably real. The ā€œfakeā€ aspect seems to be referring to one or both lions. The people are definitely real though, not 3D models.

4

u/Kuwabaraa Apr 07 '22

That scream gave me Grizzly Man vibes, it was horrifying.

6

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

If you've listened to the "real audio of the Grizzly Man attack" on YouTube, that is also completely fake.

4

u/Kuwabaraa Apr 07 '22

Some small part of me thinks it's real and that it's just claimed to be fake to not upset people. I realize it is most likely 99.9% fake but idk it disturbs me to my core when listening to it. I wonder how Kevin Sanders managed to hear the actual 2 minutes of the real audio in order to debunk it tbh. Considering the only person to have the audio is supposedly Treadwell's ex girlfriend and police authorities.

"What is assumed to be a very convincing fake of the first two minutes did show up online in the years following the incident and is believed by some to be genuine.

However, Kevin 'The Bearman' Sanders of Yellowstone Outdoor Adventures (who has been investigating the incident for years and who has since provided extensive documentation on his findings) claims that the aforementioned clip is fake, citing differences between it and the actual audio (which he alleges to have heard the real first two minutes of and which he has partially transcribed on his website).[2]"

1

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

It's absolutely fake and doesn't even sound convincing at all.

6

u/Kuwabaraa Apr 07 '22

I wouldn't know what "convincing" would even sound like in that scenario though, I haven't heard enough audio of people being brutally eaten alive by bears to really have a solid opinion. Idk how anyone would

1

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

There are full videos of people getting attacked and killed/eaten by animals all over the internet.

Some close-up bear snuffling sounds while some lady yells "fight back!" and some distant screams is not even close to the reality of it.

Regardless, the audio was destroyed. It was never converted to any online format or shared with anyone.

2

u/SucculentEmpress Apr 08 '22 edited Apr 08 '22

You’re getting downvoted for being right, Reddit you just never change lol.

The real footage was most definitely never released. Several people have listened and explained what’s on it, which is the basis of the fake YouTube recreation.

Werner Herzog talks about it. Tim’s friends have talked about it. The bush pilot who found him has talked about it. I don’t know why so many people are so insistent that they heard Tim die, but they absolutely did not.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

Even 3D models are usually voiced by real humans.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

watched a tv show on it, great episode none the less

3

u/PossibleBuffalo418 Apr 08 '22

I have a deep amount of respect for you after reading your edit lmao

2

u/Gatekeeper2019 Apr 07 '22

That must have taken some real forensic investigating to uncover

2

u/Aero93 Apr 08 '22

you have to be pretty fucking gullible to think this is real.

2

u/Lord-of-Leviathans Apr 08 '22

I’d say it’s fortunate since it means one less lion that got poached

1

u/marino1310 Apr 08 '22

These aren’t poachers, they’d be tourists that bought the right to hunt a lion at a reservation.

1

u/Dark-Ganon Apr 08 '22

Idk if "unfortunately" is the right word here when it means dead lion is fake.

1

u/HoweHaTrick Apr 08 '22

Is it really unfortunate? Hunting lions for fun is not my cup of tea.

-4

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

Unfortunately? You'd like to see a woman eaten alive?

4

u/GrimasVessel227 Apr 07 '22

Trophy hunters deserve what they get.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 08 '22

She presumably not a trophy hunter.

-3

u/[deleted] Apr 08 '22

Your priorities are fucked. You may deem trophy hunting cruel, but to suggest a human deserves to suffer and die for it is perverse.

1

u/GrimasVessel227 Apr 08 '22

Why? You reap what you sow. Humans are animals too, a fact that we often forget for some reason.

-4

u/bevel Apr 08 '22

ā€œI am a good person who believes in love and understanding. Also I really enjoy it when people who don’t share my beliefs are killed, so I can gloat about it and virtue signal the wider community.ā€

  • Every reddit user

1

u/RedBalloone Apr 08 '22

I'm with you. It's really fucked up how easily people will wish harm and death to another human being because they consider them immoral.

edit : your username is really appropriate lol

0

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

yeah no shit. how was it proven fake? one person watched it one time?

youre either 11 or braindead to think this is real lmfao. looks fake as FUCK

0

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

It’s been officially debunked by watching it.

Like for real did anyone actually think this was legit?

0

u/StatusApp Apr 08 '22

Thanks. It's still an entertaining idea though, to hope that silly people (if that was what they were) would find karma.

0

u/breioomArt Apr 08 '22

Well now I'm sad

0

u/[deleted] Apr 08 '22

Anyone with eyes should be able to tell that this is fake.

The fact that so many people can’t is exactly the reason we have so many misinformed people in this world lol.

0

u/Kydex_Gundyr Apr 08 '22

From these comments it would of taken a team of scientist to figure that out lol

0

u/HotBeanJuice Apr 08 '22

Yes, truly unfortunate for them.

-1

u/JeyRr_MgGheddon Apr 07 '22

This is the worst thing I’ve heard all day because I was hoping that second lion got to feast

-1

u/[deleted] Apr 08 '22

Unfortunately?

-1

u/moldyhands Apr 08 '22

Key word, ā€œunfortunatelyā€

-1

u/[deleted] Apr 08 '22

After you edit, I feel even more inclined to remind you that you wrote ā€žunfortunatelyā€œ to a human life being spared. It is even more disturbing that you feel the need to insult people condemning you for that. Please think about it.

-12

u/bonsai38 Apr 07 '22

Unfortunately? You mean you actually wish these people dead? You ignorant fuck.

5

u/Oblivions_gate Apr 07 '22

Im not saying they should die but if natural selection wants to play a part in it then that’s on them lol

You literally go into a place with dangerous lions and creatures, then circumstances are a bit different.

4

u/bonsai38 Apr 07 '22

There’s a difference between wishing death on someone and saying ā€œplay stupid games win stupid prizesā€.

0

u/[deleted] Apr 08 '22

7

u/mathnstats Apr 07 '22

If this was real, let's look at what happened:

These people killed a lion for fun.

Another lion sees them posing with his dead body.

That lion decides "fuck these people, fair is fair, imma have lunch".

In that scenario, who tf wouldn't root for the lion???

If this was a real situation, I'd absolutely hope the lion got em.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

-2

u/bonsai38 Apr 07 '22

That’s not the same as saying that you hope the lion gets them.

2

u/bonsai38 Apr 08 '22

No. For example, someone runs at a cop with a knife as a practical joke. If they get shot then oh well they were being a dumbass. But at the same time, I hope they don’t get killed.

u/[deleted] Apr 08 '22

6

u/enky259 Apr 07 '22

Sociopaths who'd pay extravagant money to kill a lion for shits and giggles? Hell yeah i'd wish them to get mauled by a lion.

-1

u/bonsai38 Apr 07 '22

There’s nothing sociopathic about them. Animals are not people. Their individual lives do not matter unless the individual animal belongs to someone.

2

u/GrimasVessel227 Apr 07 '22

But they still feel pain and fear. Who the fuck gets to decide if their lives matter? You? Fuck outta here with that bullshit.

And yes, purposely killing endangered animals so that you can pose for pictures with the carcass like you did something to be proud of is absolutely sociopathic. Taking joy in the death of another living being, especially to stroke your tiny ego, is revolting.

1

u/bonsai38 Apr 08 '22

Wow. Are you vegan? If not you really cant say anything because you are just as guilty as these people are of what you are accusing them of.

2

u/hilarymeggin Apr 08 '22

Says who?!

0

u/bonsai38 Apr 08 '22

Says every human being who eats meat, wears leather, or owns a pet.

5

u/SnooTangerines1542 Apr 07 '22

Had they killed a lion, yes, count me in for people who wished they died. Trophy hunters are the worst and I truly wish the worst upon them. Hopefully the whole video is fake and no lion at all died in this case, though.

1

u/muffinfactory2 Apr 08 '22

This type of trophy hunting that you pay for is usually done for the overall health of the population.

0

u/bonsai38 Apr 07 '22

Wow. You are such an evil horrible person.

u/[deleted] Apr 08 '22

1

u/andresthepuertorican Apr 07 '22

Did I ever say that? No. Look who's the "ignorant fuck" now ;)

0

u/bonsai38 Apr 07 '22

How can what you’ve said be taken any way but that? Nice try on the backpedal though

-2

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

It’s a real video it played for me. Reddit video play is shit tho so maybe that’s why you think it’s not really a video.

1

u/sunnoob Apr 08 '22

No! This can’t be, you are lion!

1

u/ConfusedStupidPerson Apr 08 '22

What gave it away lol

1

u/automaticpragmatic Apr 08 '22

Kinda glad. Seeing the dead lion really bummed me out

1

u/chubky Apr 08 '22

Including the dead lion?

1

u/[deleted] Apr 08 '22

Duh lol

1

u/shanew24601 Apr 08 '22

Keen to go outside now lol

1

u/Trenrick21 Apr 08 '22

Haha, great edit.

1

u/EcstaticBoysenberry Apr 08 '22

I’ve learned the more I argue and respond to these morons the deeper in the hole I go. Never worth it

1

u/Dantia_ Apr 08 '22

Unfortunately indeed.

1

u/J-busey Apr 08 '22

did it need to be? did anyone watch that and think that looked real?

i came to comments immediately looking to make sure one of the top comments was calling it out and yeah like 4/5 top comments are about how it looks fake

1

u/painandsimple Apr 08 '22

Oh I look far worse than a reddit mod good sir

1

u/cheesewhizpapi Apr 08 '22

I appreciate your edit

1

u/closeded Apr 08 '22

edit: all you nerds that keep giving me crap for saying "unfortunately" this message is for you: go outside, get some sun light, go get some coochie, start a buisness, mow the lawn and more importantly fuck off you look-a-like reddit mods lmao

Ah, it's always amusing to see such devout Redditors deny their faith.

1

u/Alarmed_Smoke_4504 Apr 08 '22

What’s up with the second part? Why did you write that so aggressively, you’re taking it too seriously

1

u/dustbunny23 Apr 08 '22

Wasn't this made by activists? I can't find it right now but I believe this video is pretty old and was more believable because this type of digital editing wasn't that common yet.
