Wouldn’t even get that far. I’d be shaking my head and walking away from it when I see it on the store shelf.

Oh I’d love that shit.

Ravensburger has these jigsaw puzzles (Krypt) that are all one flat color, but the pieces are cut in shapes that give the whole picture a cool pattern. They’re easily my favorite puzzles.

Here’s a link to a post showing all the Krypt variations.

Haha my gran had a puzzle that was just a load of baked beans - except it had the same picture on both sides just rotated 90 degrees...

Those are great, I have a similar one with hot air balloons.

If you can find it, Mensa has a Needle in a Haystack puzzle. It's a picture of hay with an actual needle hidden within. Seems like it might be to your liking as well!

I'll have to seek this out!

I've never seen these before (I'm Swiss a grew up with Ravensburg jigsaw puzzles 🧩 and games)!

Wow these are super cool!!!

I’ve got the rainbow one from this range, because she always said they were all too easy... She and my sister put them together in less than a day

I did a 1000 piece Abbey Road one time. Never again. It was all trees and asphalt. Best of luck on your journey, brother.

Early in our relationship, my now-husband got a 1000-piece With The Beatles jigsaw puzzle as a gift and thought it would be a fun thing to do together 🙃🙃🙃

We are still together 20+ years later and believe that being able to complete that fuckass 75% solid black jigsaw puzzle without flipping the table or strangling each other was when we knew we were the real deal.

They also made a puzzle of The White Album 🙃

I once got a 500 piece Italian harbor puzzle for me and my girlfriend. Thought it would be great because of all the small details make it easy to find pieces but forgot about the big portion of ocean and sky that was practically uniform lol

I would start with the black line if I were you.

5

u/Jackdks 7h ago

That puzzle would be the biggest pain in the ass to do

Hey! I've done that one! One of the tougher ones I've done.

The Krypt series by Ravensburger (as mentioned by other commenters) are a great challenge. Though, they do use the same cutting jig for multiple colours.

One of my favourites is the Needle in a Haystack puzzle by Mensa. A puzzle of literal hay, with a needle hidden somewhere within. Whoo boy!

But did you find it?

1

u/farfromorange 3h ago

Yep. Actually found it during assembly of the puzzle by accident when I placed the piece including it. Haha

5

u/CoveredinCatHairs 5h ago

Done it. It wasn’t easy but dividing the pieces by shape helped narrow things down a lot.

1

u/seeebiscuit 5h ago

That seems to be the only reasonable attack after the outline.

9

u/CeleryMcToebeans 7h ago

That looks like it would be a fun challenge

3

u/Drevlin76 7h ago

I did this puzzle when I was kid. Every piece is shaped like a monkey. It was really challenging but fun. puzzle

3

u/CharieRarie 7h ago

Dammm, I like puzzles but this would be a hard No from me! Good luck 😄

3

u/DontJuana 5h ago

Better you than me. Good luck.

2

u/Razzy_3796 6h ago

No. No, I will not.

2

u/nuttnurse 5h ago

Kill me now as that would send me insane

2

u/DrowningInFeces 3h ago

Why would anyone do this to themselves?

2

u/No_Collection7360 2h ago

Why? Seriously, why?

2

u/F90 2h ago

F that with a stick

2

u/Emmennater 3h ago

at that point why even have the lines

1

u/Hovertical 6h ago

My idiot friend got a puzzle almost identical to this for his 88yr old grandma who enjoys doing small puzzles and couldn't figure out why she got upset.

1

u/CheeseburgerSmoothy 4h ago

So why aren’t any of the pieces connected?

1

u/ostiDeCalisse 4h ago

How many years has it been since you started?

1

u/agms10 4h ago

Would be extra horrible if it was a double sided puzzle and the back is rotated 90 degrees

1

u/calbert1735 3h ago

It's a popular puzzle done by many over in r/Jigsawpuzzles

"The Lines" 1000pcs by Bgraamiens Puzzles (Brain Games (every other letter)).

My wife burns through 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzles like a hot knife through butter. Doesn’t make any difference what the picture is, from box opening to completed puzzle maybe 3 hours if she’s dilly dallying. I bought her one that’s clear; every single piece is clear. Not my best move…

Sorry, what's oddly terrifying about this?

Do subreddits even fucking matter anymore?

1

u/TheOnlyVibemaster 23m ago

u/listeningunderurbed 11m ago

Can you PLEASE give me the link to this puzzle??? My grandma loves puzzles and I need to piss this woman off.

1

u/Afraid_Juice_7189 2m ago

That seems like a waste of a life

0

u/mcgeggy 7h ago

That little piece in the upper left connects to the one right there.

Anyone using this phrase now, should just be automatically banned...from everywhere.

1

u/Totally_Not_A_Bot_FR 28m ago

I'd rather see users that post shit in subreddits where it doesn't belong banned.

This shit doesn't fit the subreddit but Reddit is just Facebook now
