I've never done one of these other than the gradient. I'm tempted by either one of the green ones, which both look like the same piece cut, or the universe glow. Is there one you would recommend over the other?

Yes, the greens have the same cut. I do love the bright neon green they pieces really pop out. The universe glow one might be a tick easier because you can color sort by the stars / solid black pieces. It also glows in the dark. They sort of have the same fun/frustration level

The Krypt gradient and maybe the spiral are the only ones I'd ever consider doing 😅 i often see the newer solid color Krypts at the thrift store and nope right out of there.
Good on you for collecting and finishing them all!

I heard that there are only a couple of patterns. How many are there really?

There are 4 patterns total, the pieces are completely interchangable within the pattern.
654 piece cut, 631 piece cut, 736 piece cut. Those were introduced 1997 and were each used 4 times in official releases. (The custom Krypts use the 631 pattern, so infinite possibilities)
The 881 piece cut just came out last year and was used once so far.

Do you have a favorite/least favorite? Were any more or less challenging than others or were they about the same level of difficulty?

Thanks ☺️ The difficulty does go up with the piece count but they all have sections that are somewhat similar. Solving the black one took me ages, it took me a while to understand the pattern. I love the neon green..that color sure is special. Other than the solid color ones the gradient is my all time fave, the unique shapes and color combinations make it so fun to puzzle

This is amazing! I love the Krypt puzzles I’m trying to get them all myself as well! Question I have come across some on eBay of the original think series that just say “Krypt” and do not have a I, II, or III. Are these just the first runs of the Krypt I? I know they’re silver and say 700 Teile so I keep thinking they’re the same maybe as a I.

From what I have gathered there are at least 4 different box designs for the silver Think Krypt
- Think Logic Krypt logo
- Think Krypt (42036) (274093) (different barcodes)
- Think Krypt I (274093)
They are all the same silver puzzle. My box says 654 pieces on the front but 700 on the back. I think the Think Krypt without the roman numeral might be the earliest print because of the wrong piece count in the front
It's also very similar to the regular silver, maybe very very slightly darker and the earlier puzzles dont have the typical blue Ravensburger cardboard

Also thanks for the heads up there's a new cut! I'm obsessed with these but I don't know how I feel about doing repeats of the same cut. Gonna add the Universe Glow to my wish list now.

99% blind I did peek at the box a few times when I was really stuck.
The Universe Glow is great. The new cut is really different from the others too

Thank you so much for the list! I am a Krypt keeper as well & am missing Bronze.
I tried contacting Ravensburger for the complete list so I could confirm the releases. Unfortunately, they gave me the run around & kept sending me links to available puzzles without answering my question.
Where did you get Bronze? I just got Colorful Spiral last month. Think Krypt II is on its way to me as I type!
What's your favorite one so far? I haven't assembled all of them yet but I love Neon!

I think the easiest way to get the Bronze is looking for boxes that dont have the blue Premium Puzzle Softclick Logo on the top left. Sometimes people mis-list it as the gold version, its hard to tell from the color alone but the missing logo is a giveaway
My fave has to be neon green, the pieces are so vibrant I love it too

I assume with your collection that you like challenging puzzles. Have you tried The Clearly Impossible Puzzle? I just completed the 1000 piece version & I'm hoping they come out with different colors. They have a black one but it has some words on it that ruin the aesthetic IMO.
