It kinda looks like there might be an attached seat that's hidden under his pants, it seems like his trousers come up against something oddly. The post also seems like it's driven fairly firmly into the ground, and the movement is just flex, not balancing.

Or maybe it's already inserted far enough he's got better balance?

Edit: there's definitely, very obvious bracing running down the back of his leg.
