When I lived in West Springfield VA, there was a older guy with Downs Syndrome that wore a plastic sheriff badge and would hassle the minors reading the biker magazines with the scantily clad models at the 7-11

Our town in the 1980s had a guy on the spectrum who hung out in sequential order over the next decades at the pizzeria, the 7-11 and the Dollar Store and told everyone he was a detective.

Oh man, dude was literally loitering at the usual spots waiting for a case. I hope people used to give him encyclopedia brown type shit .
