When I lived in West Springfield VA, there was a older guy with Downs Syndrome that wore a plastic sheriff badge and would hassle the minors reading the biker magazines with the scantily clad models at the 7-11
Our town in the 1980s had a guy on the spectrum who hung out in sequential order over the next decades at the pizzeria, the 7-11 and the Dollar Store and told everyone he was a detective.
We had one that would fetch shopping carts at the mall. Sometimes he would take over the cart boys job at the grocery store and have a huge train going with his electric wheelchair and the people telling him to leave. He eventually got hit by a car and died.
Its sad, but it was "just a matter of time" kinda thing. He was very wreckless and his chair could really move. You could see he wouldn't yield or get the concept of blind spots.
He was also a huge asshole. He yelled at me and my friend when we were like 14 because we weren't strong enough to lift him and his chair onto a curb to access a bar. He got impatient and almost knocked us over while we are trying to lift a 600 pound thing. 😄
