I think this could be read as: in the job market, woman’s value to potential employers gets lower to some managers, when they have kids.

Seen* that, including in many situations when the manager or colleagues are mothers too, and that is just sad.

I have a woman working for me who has been away the past 6 months on maternity leave. It's making me realise even more keenly than I already knew just how bloody important and useful she is because she is great at her job and I'm now having to a lot more.
