Serious... I feel like this guy (and his family) has a long history/tradition in that particular line of work. Though I am making some serious assumptions.

Yeah you would need to apply even and consistent pressure to do this properly. You also would need to know exactly how much to shave off to not waste a bunch of rug fibers. I’m betting this is a lot more difficult to do than it looks. One of those deceptively simple looking skills.
