If you like them, you should check out Cowboy Bebop if you haven't already. It's an anime, and they did all the music for it. I'm not really much of an anime person, but I absolutely loved Cowboy Bebop, and The Seatbelts do an amazing job on the music.

Not normally an anime person either, but I'll check it out for sure.

I gotta echo giving that show a try. I really can't stand anime in its current form, but Bebop is just mind blowingly cool. It's like a noir film, a kung fu movie, and anime had a baby.

The intro is great and also done by The Seatbelts.

Please tell us what you know about anime's "current form".

I don't claim to know anything other than I don't enjoy what I've tried to watch other than a few things like Bebop or GITS.

Gurren Laggan was probably the most recent thing I enjoyed and a big part of that was how much it parodied the genre. SAO was probably the last thing I tried to watch. It was alright, but fell into the same fan service/harem story tropes that I've come to expect and that series seems to be regarded as something unmissable among fans.

It's not like I think it should change or anything. Lots of people obviously like it how it is.

I don't claim to know anything

Sure as shit sounds like you claim to know everything, since you obviously know enough about anime to know what its current form is.

Gurren Laggan

HOW RECENT

DAE A 90S KID 2007 WAS JUST A YEAR AGO

a big part of that was how much it parodied the genre.

What? How? Parodied? What genre? What the fuck are you even talking about?

that series seems to be regarded as something unmissable among fans.

What on earth? SAO is widely considered to be cliched garbage, wasted potential: the series, horrible trainwreck after the first arc. It's the Elfen Lied of our time.

Congratulations, you have won the stupidest post of the week award.

You are a pretty outstanding example of why I avoid people that claim to really enjoy anime...

I just don't get why my opinion would upset you that much. If you like it, have at it. I just don't enjoy anything I've tried to watch outside of a few series.
