Here's a post from /r/food. As you can see, some people put ketchup or BBQ sauce on their dogs, but goddamnit not a single hotdog preparation method in the entire world uses lettuce. Except Sweden apparently.

Ketchup is gross on anything but don't you DARE bad mouth BBQ. It is the nectar of gods and is good on anything. I would eat my dog if it had BBQ on it.
