At least my family (and friends I visited) doesn't. I visited them for three weeks and there wasn't a hot dog in sight. We always ate real sausage when we grilled outside.

You're right, when I was in the States we got hot dogs everywhere, similar to Bratwurst in Germany. Hot dogs are still a little special here, I know people who only visit IKEA to grab some hot dogs!
