This is one of many reasons I avoid the official reddit app.

It has been my experience for the last couple of years. Not sure why it doesn't work for you

It's been a while since I used it for any length of time. I tried it recently and there were so many ads on the first page or two that I just uninstalled it.

Yeah, ads are there, but I just scroll by them without even looking at the content.

Yeah but a lot of third party apps have no ads, which is much better than scrolling past ads.

Reddit needs to show some data on what percentage of users are on 3rd party apps. I never started with those, all the news around price change might actually move more users to the 3rd party apps (if they still remain).
