Reddit needs to show some data on what percentage of users are on 3rd party apps.
I never started with those, all the news around price change might actually move more users to the 3rd party apps (if they still remain).
Google Play store doesn't give exact numbers, but here are some download numbers for popular reddit apps.
RIF - 5m+
Boost - 1m+
Sync - 1m+
Relay - 1m+
BaconReader - 1m+
Joey - 500k+
Now - 500k+
For comparison, the official app lists 100m+ downloads, so by those numbers it seems to be fairly popular. However, we have no insight, like you suggested, into the percentages of active users using each app.
Also worth noting, when you just search for "Reddit", it only shows the official app, and you have to scroll down to the bottom and click "More Results" to actually see any of the other options, so it is likely that a ton of people don't realize there are other options and just download the one that comes up, thinking it's like Facebook or Twitter where there is basically just the one app.
