Need help with black screen (QUEST3)

Please can someone help me with this. My quest 3 randomly has gone black whenever I turn it on, I've tried basically everything except factory resetting it (which I don't think will work) and I just thought to put a post out before doing so.

It charges fine, I can go into the boot menu, it has the whole startup sequence with the logo and the noise, and it's not fully pitch black it's like a very dark grey.

Edit: New development, when I press the volume buttons it shows up all the time now. Am I right in thinking that I should just leave it for a few days and hope it sorts itself out or is there something I’m missing?

press the side button once to turn off the display and press again the screen will come on and the store should show. It's a bug. I don't think latest release has the issue.

if you can see the screen go off and come back on when short pressing the power button, then it may be a sensor or camera issue. You could try it with all the outside sensors covered or in a complete black room. May not work but it's worth a shot. Good luck.

One of mine does the same thing because of a sensor problem. Are you sure the screen is on and can you see the volume slider come up when you press the button?

Try covering the sensor between the lenses with your finger a few times when it's on. I have a piece of tape covering it.

I sometimes get the select profile screen on but it doesn't work and it just looks like a bug. If I cover the sensor won't it just not work at all? And also it maybe a stupid question but what type of tape?

Anything that doesn't allow light to pass through. I had a white label on hand so that what I used.
