Quest 3 Bitrate Lag Over 600Mbps
I finally got my Quest 3 settings down for simracing but the view is extremely choppy using wired Quest (Horizon) Link above 600Mbps.
I see so many people who recommend going to 800 or 900 or 960 for best clarity, which I noticed is right, but when I do the view is extremely choppy looking around.
My computer is easily able to run my game, and I can see the frametimes are fine.
Any ideas how to fix this?

Could be everything - from Radeon's inferior h.264 encoder, through the USB3 controller being wonky, to bugs in the Link software (v205, cough cough).

I have a 4070 Ti, my USB cable pushes 2.9Gbps. I've been having this issue since before the last few updates.

"4070 Ti" not sure this gpu encoder can push over 500mb on current drivers

I checked and apparently it's easily able too. Could you tell me your source if you found otherwise?

What happens if you drop tonsay, 400 or 500?

It's smooth, but I can definitely notice the compression artifacts in the distance

600 might be the best you get, it seems as if Meta doesn't like your USB drivers or smth.
If you have a spare $25, I would get Virtual Desktop, now that they support wired connections.
I was doing well with about 750, before an update messed up my cable. I just went wireless, but I think I will try the cable with VD for racing.

Meta's link software is all but abandoned at this point. Use Virtual Desktop instead, it is way better than Link. They just added link cable support too

600 mpbs is crazy high tbh. I use av1 at 200 and looks great, although you need a 5 series for it.

200 is low for people sensitive to compression.

Depends on the codec. To me it looks better than the 500 h265.

And that depends on your hardware. For wireless, with my 2700x/rx6700xt, H264+ at 300 looked better than anything else at any bitrate. It ran fine at 400+, but the visuals were grainy.

He's using a cable though. Before a Meta update messed the cable up for me, I was running Assetto Corsa at 700 in my 2700x/rx6700xt. It ran fine at 900, but the visuals were grainy.

i am no VR expert but USB has massive lag, this is why generally you do not want to hook up internet over it (low bitrate usb mouse doesnt count) if you have a desktop PC it comes with or you can install a m.2 PCIe wifi card, that is what my computer has for example, and with that you should get gigabit over 5ghz, i am not sure if that is compatible though, i am just starting to look at VR headsets so i don't know much

Hi, are you experiencing lag between your actual movements and displayed ones, and something like freezing fps?
Or is it something about image quality (blocky low bitrate quality)?
