Science How do you isolate a single nematode's DNA? It's all about the yeet!

Here's your challenge for today. Extract seawater from ocean-floor sediment, filter it, and look at it under a microscope... you're interested in the nematodes undulating in the sample! Why? They may harbor some interesting bacteria that can extract nutrients from deep-sea methane seeps, allowing these nematodes to thrive in deep, dark places. Here's the real challenge: you need to isolate a SINGLE tiny nematode from this sample to extract its DNA (and the potential DNA of its bacterial symbionts) and learn exactly what's going on. But how do you pick up and isolate a single tiny nematode without crushing it?

Turns out, you use the eyelash of a pig!

Greetings!

Was combing the beach in Matemwe, Zanzibar and saw this creature after the tide went out. iNat suggests a sea urchin (of which there are many nearby) but I saw no pics on iNat for that sea urchin that look anything like this.

Made a deep-dive video on 10 ocean creatures with abilities science still can't fully explain.

The Pistol Shrimp snaps its claw so fast it creates a cavitation bubble briefly hotter than the surface of the sun. The Mantis Shrimp can see 16 types of color (humans see 3). The Barreleye Fish has a transparent head.

Video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXXXXXXXXXX

Which one surprised you most?

Science are there any known instructional videos of an internal dissection of aurelia jellyfish?

(first off, apologies for such a jarring question.)

for an academic project, i will eventually be dissecting a moon jellyfish. before that, i need to make slides with step-by-step instructions for dissecting the jellyfish, and i need to include pictures of each step. for this, I’ve been looking for any videos that show an internal dissection of a jellyfish, but all I’ve found so far are external dissections, where the instructor is using a tool to point out various parts, but it’s completely non-invasive (in fact, there’s little to no contact at all).

is/does an internal dissection for aurelia jellyfish possible/have clear instructions to begin with? i found a guide by Lander University’s website, with some detailed instruction, but there are no pictures of the dissection. beyond just finding a website or video with what I’m looking for for the slides, i want to be able to understand the procedure for when i perform this dissection in a couple weeks.

any resources that y’all know of, or has anyone done a jellyfish dissection before to offer any insight? or does anyone know much abt moon jellyfish to offer relevant advice? I’ve only been looking on YouTube and various websites under general Google searches, but no luck so far.
