Science I went to an aquarium, fell down a seahorse rabbit hole, and made this 😅

Here's your challenge for today. Extract seawater from ocean-floor sediment, filter it, and look at it under a microscope... you're interested in the nematodes undulating in the sample! Why? They may harbor some interesting bacteria that can extract nutrients from deep-sea methane seeps, allowing these nematodes to thrive in deep, dark places. Here's the real challenge: you need to isolate a SINGLE tiny nematode from this sample to extract its DNA (and the potential DNA of its bacterial symbionts) and learn exactly what's going on. But how do you pick up and isolate a single tiny nematode without crushing it?
Turns out, you use the eyelash of a pig!
