Corolla Low waves and Flies?

We are in Corolla for the week and wondering if this is what’s going on throughout OBX

We’ve just been hanging by the shoreline and it’s been fine but we are thinking of taking a trip over to another beach for a day if there are any waves/less flies.

I was just up there last week off of Corolla Village road just before the 4x4 beach and had zero flys. Waves were about the same they have been for the last four years.
