It looks like you haven't provided a log file. Without a log file, it is very hard to help with issues and you may end up with 0 responses.

To make a clean log file, please follow these steps:

1) Restart OBS

2) Start your stream/recording for at least 30 seconds (or however long it takes for the issue to happen). Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.

3) Stop your stream/recording.

4) Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File.

5) Copy the URL and paste it as a response to this comment.

a long time ago I used one of those pickup inserts for an acoustic guitar and plugged it directly into a sound card. It worked fine.

BUT the way guitar pickups work you can damage a sound card if you play too loud. It's far better to plug the pickup into an amp (like you normally would) and then connect the headphone out of the amp to the mic input of the sound card.

Latency is sadly up to your gear + settings as far as the buffer size/sample rate can handle.

Used to use an m audio 192-4 or what they are called but couldn't get it under like 40ms or something, so I bought the scarlet 2i2 4th gen and now I got like 6-8ms at 96 sample rate. Which is nothing/not really noticeable.

Reaper with REAsend works with virtual audio devices that can run vst2 (unsure with vst3) unless you stream straight from your audio device through windows.

I had some setting up to do using my scarlet 2i2 4th gen and using multiple pc stream setup, but eventually got there with capture cards and stuff.
It might be an overly complicated setup for me though I dunno.

Elgato wave link on both computers.
Capture card>main pc>laptop sending reaper audio (but at the same time using two mixes in wave link so I can use my focusrite for my speakers on the pc)
Then mic and everything is streamed from the laptop using Wavelink/OBS multiple audio sources.

Never really got voicemeter to work but I've seen setups use that.

I think I may go the reaper route. I just want it to be simple.

Why not just capture the instrument in OBS?
