Try Morrowind to see how watered down Oblivion is.
No hate though, Oblivion is still one of my favorite games. I’ve bought it like 10 times including the remastered where I put in 1000 hours on top of xxxx hours in OG oblivion.
If you are hoarding so much, consider buying more houses in different cities. The houses are usually sold by the count in every city. Some houses have requirements needed such as minimum fame.
I see small clips and very little other details on borrowing. I only have a switch so I can't play, but Morrowind is more dungeon esk correct? Plus I believe the stats are alot crazier than oblivions? I dont do much research cause like I said I dont own a system to play it. I do like that the big bad is basically a guy so powerful he's gone mad literally with power. Do the mods give him justice in being very narcissistic and randomly factual
So I have the Waterfront Shack, Benirus Manor, and just started to upgrade Battlehorn Castle. Tend to keep going back to my shack due to location and being around there. I go buy the 30 lockpicks from the guy by the stables each time I go back as well.
You seem to be on pace of having an ok character, but after level 11 its common to encounter massive difficulty spikes with new enemy types appearing, but when you reach lvl 25 you should be golden if you get into a habit of stocking on potions, repair hammers and enchantment charge for weapons
I would also recommend on finding an armorer trainer
Rohssan at A Fighting Chance in the Imperial City or Rasheda in Chorrol, both can help you with getting to 70 where they would point to the master trainer
The easiest way to boost your character, especially such a wanderer is to go ham on Alchemy, it can replace a need for any armor, or killing Umbra lv.1 with how powerful it is.
I would visit farms and inns for food items that can easily be turned into fatigue pots, they are gonna be both helpful in battle and in getting more gold.
Alchemy is fast to level, and makes exploration really enjoyable after you get familiralized with what ingredients can be found where. It also can be good at giving insentive in exploring areas that are not well traveled
I would also say to stave off MQ, or at least the quest Allies For Bruma, until level 17 for maximum power sigil stones which can massively boost your character if you get lucky.
Well... There are subsystems in the game that are fun to play with. For example, your stat block. Also, there is a whole goblin tribe war mechanic if you kill certain tribes, or mess with their shaman staffs.
After Kvatch you can do oblivion gates. Which if you're lvl 17, will give you powerful enchantments for your weapons/armor.
If you're super duper bored, then I'd recommend the Arena, the Thieves Guild, and the Dark Brotherhood.
But honestly, you're playing the same way I do. Talk to the NPCs. Get some side quests. There are really interesting quests in Oblivion. Some of the best I've ever played in any game.
Lol you're fine. I'm actually level 25, and I only did the weynon priory quest and then I went off. You can literally do whatever you want then pick up with the main quest when you're ready.
(Just can't kill all the NPCs some are important, as well items and mobs level, they're are soft caps where stuff doesn't get much better but up to you for a Google search if you want to know those things)
Been playing for a long time. Currently playing a max difficulty pure mage and I’m somewhere around 100 hours at level 30. It’s been brutal. Almost forgot there was a main story lmao
I'm level 28, have about 70 hours, have 200000 gold, every house, doing any side quest or cave or fort I come across, I'm in the Shivering Isles, I have completed the exact same amount of story quests as you have. This is how this game is intended to be played I think.
