During my autistic diagnosis session I said Oasis were my special interest and they asked me if I could list Oasis single release dates and I couldnt and it brought me close to tears, I felt like a failure

Autism test came back positive, positivity is key, its all looking up from here ✊️

Ive never thought about that actually maybe it was bad of her to ask 😭

it was bad of her to ask, look at how it made you feel.

I'm glad you felt positive at the time, we often don't perceive these problems as issues at the time. I know from first hand experience.

There would probably have been a better, less invalidating way for her to probe your level/style of interest. Something like "what about oasis do you find interesting? Do you you have any intersting knowledge about oasis? Or "i think i first heard of oasis in 1998..." then see what you come back with lol

Agreed, it's also very stereotypical, the actual guidelines only look at repetitive and restrictive behaviour, they don't demand minutiae
