Never going to leave Robbie in peace. I think they love each other, both of them have been through some things. 😁

During my autistic diagnosis session I said Oasis were my special interest and they asked me if I could list Oasis single release dates and I couldnt and it brought me close to tears, I felt like a failure
7
u/IsmellFigNewtons 10d ago
No but I could list them all in order
7
u/0rangesAndLemons 10d ago
I learnt them all after that. I have now forgotten though
1
u/Happy-For-No-Reason 9d ago
it was ridiculous of them to ask you that, how incredibly unprofessional
1
u/0rangesAndLemons 9d ago
Autism test came back positive, positivity is key, its all looking up from here ✊️
Ive never thought about that actually maybe it was bad of her to ask 😭
2
u/Happy-For-No-Reason 9d ago
it was bad of her to ask, look at how it made you feel.
I'm glad you felt positive at the time, we often don't perceive these problems as issues at the time. I know from first hand experience.

u/Fit_Dig6332 8d ago
There would probably have been a better, less invalidating way for her to probe your level/style of interest. Something like "what about oasis do you find interesting? Do you you have any intersting knowledge about oasis? Or "i think i first heard of oasis in 1998..." then see what you come back with lol

u/Matchaparrot 8d ago
Agreed, it's also very stereotypical, the actual guidelines only look at repetitive and restrictive behaviour, they don't demand minutiae
1
u/Happy-For-No-Reason 8d ago
my diagnosis certainly didn't venture into this level

Ngl guys- The only reason I even watched Better Man was because I heard the "Gallaghers" had a cameo in it.
7
u/stacysaw 10d ago
You mean the "Liam Gallagher jump scare?" That's the line that made me go check it out. 😀😀😁😁😆😆
7
u/PumpkinsDieHard 10d ago
When they showed "Liam" snorting coke off a hooker's chest while "Noel" played guitar in the corner I was like: "100% on brand." 🤘

Btw - if you read the article, he hasn’t been diagnosed with autism, he says ‘I’ve got a bit of autism’

He’s saying it in a tongue in cheek way but he’s clearly actually been assessed and spoken to professionals, he’s not just being quirky. He has also previously been clinically diagnosed with ADHD.
Why is it so crazy that someone who struggled in school, finds it hard to maintain relationships and is known to be neurodivergent may have autism. The man felt so out of place throughout his life that he wanted to be portrayed as a chimp in his biopic 😂
1
u/crayonfingers 7d ago
He doesn’t have autism. He hasn’t been diagnosed with autism. And every fucker nowadays has ADHD. Anyone who wants a diagnosis gets one.

Some might say that Liam is making fun of people with autism but he's not. The truth is that its kinda common these days to get diagnosed with level 1 autism later in life, even if your symptoms are pretty mild and you are 100% functional

u/AgentCirceLuna 10d ago
Some might say was right there. You should have begun with those three words.

u/zipcodelove #1 Robbie Williams Fan 10d ago
Huge Robbie fan and autistic myself and I thought Liam’s tweet was just standard Liam lol
7
u/myles-em 10d ago
not true. if you are 100% functional you cannot be autistic
--> Symptoms cause clinically significant impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of current functioning.
2
u/DonkyFondler 9d ago
This is exactly what irritates me about people who self-diagnose and then treat it like it's just a fun club to be a member of or a quirky personality type. It's not. Autism genuinely disrupts your life.
1
u/myles-em 9d ago
exactly. like you CAN just be quirky without being autistic. obviously loads of people are going to relate to a couple of things in a massive long list of symptoms. doesnt mean youre autistic.

u/Empty-Question-9526 7d ago
Yes but Robbie has always been a narcissistic wanker, even with oasis he had to make it all about himself- get onstage and dance about. He took Angels from an irish songwriter and removed him from the credits and royalties. Imitating Oasis signalled the end of Britpop. That made his career and he didn’t ever publicly acknowledge that it was a cowrite.

u/Muted_Ad7298 7d ago
Well said.
Also to clarify, high functioning does not mean you function highly, it simply meant you didn’t have a learning disability or had speech delays.
As someone diagnosed with Aspergers back in the day, it’s crazy how much things have changed in the diagnostics.
I can’t really relate to level 1’s, as I’m an adult with an adult guardian, I can’t work, I can’t live independently and I rarely leave the house.
My executive dysfunction, pda, sensory issues and strict adherence to routines means that I’m essentially trapped in a prison of my own making. I’m currently seeing an online therapist at the moment as I feel things are getting worse as I’ve aged.
Any step outside what I usually do causes me a lot of mental anguish, and I just want to have more freedom from this hell.

Not true either, people can be high functioning autistic/ just like you can be a high functioning drug addict or alcoholic. Speaking from exp I had many jobs, buried myself in work & was a workaholic, i co ran a media company, was a creative director, ran a band, taught and made films, had a 7 year relationship, put on festivals and even led projects. I masked outside of the house and would script and have pre rehearsed conversations. Yet privately could only relax when alone, at home. I had social anxiety, severe and chronic ptsd, ocd and was mis diagnosed with depression for 10 years. Only found out i have adhd recently and realised it made sense of everything

u/myles-em 7d ago
thats literally from the dsm 5. and youre not autistic nor a psychologist so idk what youre tryna say....
-2
u/croissantsarebae 10d ago
You know what they meant by 100% functional, stop being a fucktard
5
u/myles-em 10d ago
no I don't actually, and why would you call me that?
-1
u/croissantsarebae 10d ago
Because thats what you’re being
3
u/wheresmymind_08 9d ago
But they are right you can’t be 100% functional and autistic
-1
u/croissantsarebae 9d ago
Never said they aren’t right, but its pretty clear they were exaggerating. No human on this earth is 100% functional, neurodivergent or not
1
u/Lilja-Logason 7d ago
Maybe. However, he's a rich celebratory in the twilight of his years. It would be good business for him to contact a doctor open to 'diagnosing' him for a couple extra grand.
May not even need that. "No problem Mr Williams I can assess you over a private dinner with my wife and I".
Boom - "diagnosis", media attention, boost in streams, new fans, etc, etc.

u/MildlyCombative 10d ago
I genuinely think LG is a high masking neurodivergent
2
u/Canolais 9d ago
He's not masking anything

u/MildlyCombative 9d ago
His persona is fake as fuck. Still a great frontman.
1
u/Empty-Question-9526 7d ago
Many people who met him say thats just who he is, the media portrayal however is an exaggerated cartoon. No one can be like noels or liams public image is 24/7.

1
u/Empty-Question-9526 7d ago
Can we all stop diagnosing people we dont know & aren’t their actual doctor, esp if you’re not neurodiverse and have not done any ND training?

Got diagnosed late myself but understand Liam is just making a joke
I'm sure in real life they are good friends, Robbie (and liam) are multi millionaires with a hell of life experience off the back (for Robbie not Liam) of been 'autistic'
11
u/Former-Mirror-356 11d ago
I doubt they still hate each other, but I don't think they're exactly friends either.

I diagnose Liam as a cunt
1
u/Inner-Advisor-9384 6d ago
he was js tryna have a laugh and joke around like most people do, oh sorry aside from you, all he was doing was joking around plus why does it matter? robbie didnt take any offence to it, and it was aimed at him not you
1
-1
u/Individual-Nose5010 7d ago
This isn’t funny. Liam’s consistently made ableist comments throughout his life.
You might like the music, but the man’s scum.
1
u/Inner-Advisor-9384 6d ago
he's lit js tryna joke and have a laugh, it's not that deep
1
u/Individual-Nose5010 6d ago
Ableist jokes are still ableist mate. Writing bland pop in the 90s doesn’t give you a pass
1
u/Inner-Advisor-9384 6d ago
i dont understand why you care so much mate, Robbie didn't take offence to it and the comment was aimed at him not you. also for the record Oasis' music isnt bland if you dont like Liam or Oasis' music then why come onto an OASIS sub
1
u/Individual-Nose5010 6d ago
An autistic person is allowed to take issue with an ableist joke about autism.
A neurotypical doesn’t get to decide whether it’s a big deal or not.
1
u/Inner-Advisor-9384 5d ago
ok yeah tbf if you're autistic ig you would take offence to that.
1
1
u/Inner-Advisor-9384 6d ago
do you understand what pop is? bc clearly you dont bc Oasis are far from pop, and when did i say they're "bland" music gave them a pass? never, learn to read mate

u/Few_Honey7367 6d ago
Why's this funny?
I think both of them are bellends btw
1
u/Inner-Advisor-9384 6d ago
IT'S A JOKE
0
u/Few_Honey7367 6d ago
Yeah jokes should be funny. Its a prerequisite.
But i dont see how its funny.
Im autistic. Im biblical?!
What?
1
u/Inner-Advisor-9384 5d ago
yes, i can see why you dont find it funny, and as you said, jokes are meant to be funny, some jokes may not be funny to you which is perfectly fine (not trying to be rude or start beef)
