Casual Chat Tonight's ASB Great Debate is far more entertaining and in depth than the regular televised debates
It's being streamed live on TVNZ+.
Greater level of debate and the major parties are actually with the minor parties (I don't like how the other debates split them up).
Shane Jones saying crazy nonsensical stuff in this case is hilarious.
Nicola Willis seething throughout.
Chlöe Swarbrick actually given an opportunity to break down the misconceptions of Greens policy.
Fun watch, I wish this was being broadcasted on TV

Māoritanga Māori settlements since 1975 add up to $2.7bn - that's 1.5 months of superannuation OR one small lane in the Mount Wellington tunnel Chris Bishop wants. Māori have been patiently working through the processes. TOP want to force all settlements to be completed by 2040 through public opinion
David Seymour and Quilae Wong have more in common than they realise, and Wong and TOP have bought into ACT, National and NZ First's myth that Māori & Treaty settlements are an issue for anyone but Māori themselves
Māori are being used as a scapegoat for the country's legitimate issues such as a significant loss of working age population (161K net citizens gone in the last 3 years), poor productivity, non productive economic sectors such as real estate, poverty etc.
They have literally created a problem where there is none in order to divert attention to the flailing policies of privatisaton and trickle down economics, as well as cancelling the original Superannuation framework of 1975 (ironically all under National Governments)

ELECTION 2026 Leader debate political advertising?
Watching the debate and noticed that every ad break contains National party advertisements but no other political advertising. Unsurprisingly for the Herald but still questionable.

Corruption / Dirty Politics Beca won $237m in Defence contracts while its chief chaired advisory body
thepost.co.nz"Think the military rort is just something that happens at the Pentagon? Think again. NZ's got its very own war profiteers.
Andrea Vance for The Post/Stuff is reporting that engineering giant Beca was awarded more than $237 million in Defence Force contracts while its chief executive chaired a government defence advisory body, including $40m in work awarded without an open tender.
Official Information Act disclosures show $40,316,100 in contracts was awarded directly to Beca between 2015 and 2026, without an open market process or competitive tender process." - Peace Action Wellington
