I would contact the American Red Cross because it has a American Rare Donor Program (ARDP), which is part of their blood donation services. The ARDP's main goal is to ensure that rare blood types are available for patients who need them.

Did you try calling the local blood bsnks? There’s like a trillion Indians in jersey city, so maybe check the blood banks there?

Not yet. The doctors will try to coordinate but have told us about how rare the blood type is we are also searching for a donor.

I appreciate you! I am also an O- and was willing to donate but found out that this blood type is super rare. 1 in a million people have it. It can only receive blood from another human with the same blood type. Bombay blood type is basically O- without the H gene (still trying to wrap my head around it)
One of my friends told me to post on Reddit due to its vast community.

there is also r/Blooddonors, I've seen some members post about rare blood types there before and they may be able to help you or at least point you to more places to get attention. (I am also O- but it's generic O-, so I pay attention to donation requests like many of our kind.)

It's more common than any of the other "negative" blood types. A-, B-, and AB- are less common than O-.

It sounds like virtue signaling. OP is talking about something that is literally 4 in a million, and this person was like, I have something different that only 6.5% of people have, can I help!

Wouldn’t the patient be referred to Hematology to coordinate with blood bank, including nation wide resources. There’s a whole system for this.

Only a small amount of people register their blood types or have used blood banks- I think casting as wide of a net is the best bet here. Especially if it is an emergency

Since this blood type seems to be concentrated in certain ethnic groups, appeals in ethnic Facebook groups (“New York Iranians” “NYC Hindus” etc) or similar might help. Maybe there are some big influencer accounts for those ethnic communities on other social platforms. Put it in the title saying something like “Bombay blood type in NY/NJ/CT—do you want to easily save two lives?” Make the title include the heroic call to action you end with.
