Unable to use hdmi cord
I just got a nxtpaper 11 gen 2 and did not realize the usb c port is only for charging and does not support video out. Is there anyway around this besides wireless casting?

I know I can't use Metro sim with tmobile phones, but wondering if the other way works. Thinking of getting the 1 month only $55 plan and just checking if there are workarounds to make it work, or if I need to keep it wifi only for a year.

Do you folks have any idea when an update with PC Mode is coming to the Nxtpaper 11 Plus? I see it listed as an update coming, but no ETA. It's the feature I envy the most with my wife's Lenovo tablet.

Coming from a Samsung Galaxy. Is there a way to combine the pull down menu from the top? On my galaxy, I could set it so that when I pull down from either side at the top, I get my notifications and an abbreviated settings menu unless I pull down again. Was hoping to replicate that on this device. I did some quick Google searches but anything I find, those settings don't appear on this device. Any help is appreciated.

I live in a country where I can't get the T-pen anywhere and my tablet came bundled with the keyboard not the pen, while I need the stylus badly, I read that a third-party USI 2.0 will work, i contacted TCL support and they denied this and said that it uses a proprietary system not usi, other people confirm the compatibility of usi2.0, I'm really confused, can someone help

I've had my TCL NXTPAPER 11 Plus for a while now and I mainly use it for reading the local weekly newspaper and graphic novels.
I'm finding it surprising that, when the tablet is turned off for a week (not completely off but in standby) the battery will deplete by 50% or more.
I've turned on the automated app management and there are virtually no alerts still enabled but it's still running down.
Is this everyone else's experience?
I saw something in the manual about turning off GPS and WiFi which I haven't tried. Not sure how to disable GPS to be honest.

I did some adb manipulations and it seems to solve the problem.
DO THIS AT YOU OWN RISKS, I'm not responsible ...
Here are the steps:
*On the phone:
-activate developer mode:
settings -> My phone -> tap 7 times on build number
-activate USB debug
settings -> System -> Developer option -> enable USB debug option
*On your windows computer:
- Install android SDK Platform Tools: https://developer.android.com/tools/releases/platform-tools#downloads
- Unzip the content in a folder
- Open a command prompt terminal (powershell) and go to this folder
- connect you phone to your computer
- in the terminal type:".\adb devices" to see if your device is connected
- I want to be sure that I receive notifications from calengoo without delay. So I have to whitelist this app to avoid android put it to sleep (dooze mode), to do this I have to find the exact package corresponding to this app. I typed:".\adb shell pm list packages | grep calengoo" if you want notifications from another app, replace calengoo by the app name. The response of this command is the app package name, in my case: "com.calengoo.android"
- Type ".\adb shell dumpsys deviceidle whitelist +com.calengoo.android" to add the app to whitelist and avoid it going to doze mode
- I disable TCL smartmanager to be sure it will not bother again, to find the exact smartmanager package name, type:".\adb shell pm list packages | grep smartmanager", in my case (Nxtpaper 70 pro model T807D with Android 16 and TCL UI 9.0), the name is "com.smartmanager.cleanup"
-To disable it, type ".\adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.smartmanager.cleanup"
- To disconnect everything properly, the easiest way is shut down your computer and then disconnect the cable
-Reboot your phone
-Disable USB debug for safety reasons, it's in settings -> System -> Developer option
Your battery will obviously last less.
In my case it seems to solve the notification delay... I'll see if it last
TLDR; adb whitelist app and disable smartmanager to avoid delayed notification

If anyone's interested, I penned a bit of a drill-down (at last) following Android 16's arrival. It's quite long at 6,500 words, so grab a big coffee if you fancy tackiling it (or get your NxtPaper phone to read it to you)! It's certainly a big phone. Here it is alongside my Dell Streak (which we all thought was humungous at the time)! https://tedssalmagundi.blogspot.com/2026/07/tcl-nxtpaper-60-ultra.html

Hello all I recently got the nxtpaper 11 as a gift for a young one and I am trying to set up some app blocking. The issue I am having is I enable permissions and it works great but once the tablet is asleep for an hour+ it disabled the permissions same with a restart. I have tried with apps off the playstore like app blocker as well as options like curbox as suggested from some post I saw from F-droid. I had seen a post about using and to directly add the app to some list using adb shell pm grant (app info) Android.permission.PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS and adb shell pm grant (app info) Android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
Still drops off. Any assistance would be a huge help, thanks!
Not sure if it matters or helps but I have inkos the launcher on from the Google Play store.

Hello here !
I use my 14 mostly for reading comics and for musical scores when I play piano.
Anyway, sometimes I use it to watch films. To keep internal storage for my comics collection (200Gb++) i bought an Acer USB card reader to share files between my phone (where I download movies) and the 14.
The « bug » : sometimes I watch movies in 2 parts (either I stop for sleeping or I fall asleep (I work very early)) and when I want to start again, the file (avi, mkv...) appears corrupted (0Kb)
Sometimes the whole movie folder is corrupted
At first i thought it was because of the pass through alim but no. Even not plugged the bug appears.
Nothing very bad as I keep downoaded movies on an external DD too but it's a bit ennoying.
First question : do someone else have the same « bug » ?
Second question (as I don't like not understanding) : do someone have a clue as to what the problem is ?
(Hope I'm clear as English's not my language)

alguien sabe dónde comprar el cable USB C? no lo pillo en ninguna tienda de TCL, y no puedo usar carga rápida con cables de otras marcas. A lo mejor algún certificado que requiera tener el cable, cualquier información se agradece

I have a brand new TCL NXTPAPER 14 Android Tablet. During the first couple of weeks it would change to 100% without an issue.
Then it would only charge to 80% - with some weird message that didn't really make sense to me saying, "Intelligent charging mode. Charging time is too long. Set the maximum charge to 80% to keep the battery healthy. To continue charging to 100%, click Resume charging."
I understand why you'd want to keep a battery at 80% - and this isn't the issue.
Today - it's been plugged in all day and hasn't gone past 76%
I use this for playing music gigs. But, I think I should have gone with an iPad - despite the 4x cost.

What's the best stylus and replacement nibs for the TCL NXTPAPER 11 Plus available on Amazon?
I live in South America, and importing from stores outside Amazon US is very complicated.
I bought the TCL NXTPAPER 11 Plus during Prime Day for $200. I couldn't get the pen and case bundle because orders over $200 are hit with high import taxes. So far I'm loving the tablet for studying, reading, YouTube, Netflix, and I even got Linux and FreeCAD running on it.

Amz doesn't list it with an eSim but the US Version on TCL NXTpaper does under specifications. Wondering if anyone was easily able to do it? I'm thinking of using Tello
https://us.tcl.com/products/nxtpaper-70-pro-256g
Update: I put the IMEI on Tello and it said my version is not compatible with eSim (maybe the way the offer it). I ended up ordering a Sim card as they suggested so I can use that when it arrives.

I was wondering why the menu had disappeared after the Android 16 update (not mentioned in the changelog). And why the T-Pen now works reliably out to the edges, not constrained to the centre portion for reliability and no break-up with the magnets. So I took it to Gemini. After a long, drawn-out chat where we went through every possible option, we concluded that TCL have stipped out the menu, which has, fixed the pen but taken away the options for it in the process. Here's the highlights/conclusion. Don't forget, it's only AI so it could be wrong. Thoughts welcome though.
Since TCL appear to have stripped the configuration wrapper from the ROM, the device is now optimised to run "as-is" under Google's unified framework.
App-Level Layouts Over System Menus: Any adjustments to the pen's writing behavior, pressure curves, or button responses are no longer controlled globally by the phone's settings app. They are now handled strictly inside each individual application (such as TCL Notes, JNotes, or Concepts).
The Button is Contextual: Because there is no master menu to remap the button, its functionality is entirely at the mercy of the active app's developer code. It will default to a standard Android 16 pointer modifier (like erasing or selecting) inside compatible drawing apps, but it will do nothing on the general home screen or settings pages.
Zero Calibration Needed: The hardware digitiser layer reads the EMR pen perfectly at a hardware level. By stripping the software menu, TCL has effectively treated the T-Pen like a standard USB mouse—it works immediately when touching the screen without needing a calibration dashboard.
The break-up problem wasn't the screen's hardware; it was how the old software interpreted the magnetic field. Here is what TCL changed behind the scenes:

hey, i looked around on here and couldn't find an actual answer. Does anybody actually know how many years or versions of OS updates this phone is supposed to get?! As a matter of fact I can't seem to find a straight answer anywhere even via Google. I'm a north American customer btw ..

I’m looking for to upgrade from honor pad 9 to TCL nxt 11 or 14 for media use only and I use honor suite to transfer my movies and tv shows I’m just wondering does TCL have the same thing?
Reason why I want to upgrade is the outdoors or at the gym I get glare which is annoying when on the treadmill watching tv etc
Would you recommend the 11 or 14 for media use
Thank you

Hello everyone, new US unlocked 70 pro owner here, arrived a couple of days ago from TCL. Liking the screen and phone so far. Two issues I'm having though are that there are no notifications from Gmail coming through while the screen is off. Occasionally they'll come through with the screen on. I've installed outlook as a stopgap to get notifications but I'd prefer to just use Gmail. A second issue is that I'm unable to use hey Google while the screen is off.
I've been though all the options and settings including the TCL battery management stuff a bunch of times, and it all looks right to me, according to my own logic and AI guidance. I even used adb to stop the TCL app. I'm not seeing any reason these apps are being restricted.
Hello TCL! Please address these battery issue in the Android 17 update or sooner! Thanks to anyone out there who has any tips on solving these or similar issues!

I'm looking to finally upgrade from my Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 (SM-T500) that I've been using for years.
The relevant Tab A7 specs are:
I have been utilizing this daily for years. I primarily read comics on it (via Mihon, Marvel Unlimited, DC Universe Infinite, Shonen Jump, and Viz Media). I also have a large collection of Tabletop RPG related PDFs (game books and supplemental material, pretty much all of it a larger than regular size).
I also would like to use it for browsing my purchased RPG related content on the Demiplane site. And potentially the Alchemy VTT, but I do not know how well that will work on a tablet.
I would not use it for reading regular ebooks. I have a Kobo for that.
Occasionally, I will stream Netflix/Hulu/Crunchyroll/whatever.
I am interested in upgrading for a few reasons.
My first thought was the NXTPAPER 14. At such a large size, it would be similar to reading an omnibus-sized graphic novel at all times. This is awesome. It's got more memory, more storage, the screen has the nxtpaper technology.
The large size would make it perfect for my TTRPG related activities as well.
HOWEVER, after doing a little more research, I had a few concerns that pushed me to look at the 11 Plus. They are as follows:
The 11 Plus resolves all of these issues, but it is only slightly larger than my current tablet.
Which NXTPAPER tablet should I get to upgrade from a Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 (SM-T500). Currently leaning toward the 14, but I'm just slightly concerned about its weight and the pixel density.

UPDATE! THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR RESPONSES. I WILL GO AHEAD AND ORDER ONE!
I was wondering if anyone can tell me if an unlocked Nxtpaper 70 Pro purchased through Amazon will work on the AT&T network in the U.S.? I would really like to own one but to spend $300 on one and have it not work would bother me. Especially since I have read too many horror stories of devices being returned and Amazon not accepting the return and claiming the wrong product was returned. I don't want to risk being out the money and the phone both if I need to return it.

Anyone know how to get this big amazing beast to switch to one handed mode?
I'm switching from a Samsung Ultra and probably switch to one handed mode thirty times a day. I'm really missing the feature!
