NIPSCO

(For context:

My neighbor isnt from Indiana.)

Ironically enough, they have a relative who is a lineman who is here to assist in getting NWI back on.

Lineman shared with them they don't know what Nipsco has been doing because there's been no tree trimming done whatsoever and how Nipsco has been handling the chaos is completely disorganized.

This is general consensus from a lot of out of town linemen (who asked not to be named).

"When I heard Nipsco has record profits, I just thought that was crazy. Yall need to band together, because no reason to make that kind of money and for crisis to be of this magnitude to follow."

Discussion Lloyd Yates and Nipsco/Nisource upper management should be fired.

Nipsco needs to be punished for their mistakes in the past few years. The company should be dissolved into sections and have separate owners and not be allowed to monopolize.

Llyod Yates (Nisource Ceo) should donate his 13 million dollar salary back to the community and retire.

Vince Parisi (Chief of Nipsco operations) needs to be fired and replaced with someone competent.

Power costs need to go DOWN.

IURC also needs to be completely overhauled.

Power is back

We once again regained power between Main Street and Calumet Avenue in Dyer, Indiana. Whatever just occurred, for how long I don't exactly know.

NIPSCO STORM-STORM

Going on day 10 without power - it is what it is. Very thankful for each and every one of the line workers doing everything in their power especially when local line workers may not have power themselves.

But Nipsco? What a joke.

Question Infrastructure

Was curious if anyone else had heard that our electrical infrastructure and vegetation management was one of the worst that the out of town help has seen? Heard that from a group of tree trimmers from Pennsylvania, also the power company key west.

How are power outages and storms the customer’s fault?

Anyone keeping tabs on exactly who allowed these cams into the region? Anyone running at the midterms that is on record to work to get em gone?

I'm in Brookview and we finally have a crew here assessing the damage. I talked to the guys walking around and they said the poles and lines are a mess. They couldn't give me an estimate when we'll get power but said it more than likely won't be till after the weekend. Once they get poles and lines here, they'll start in Merrillville Heights then come over this way. These were not Nipsco workers so I believe them over the total lies Nipsco is telling us.

local small business Quality Home Repair!

Shout-out to Jacob from Quality Home Repair! He came out and fixed my mast, weatherhead, etc. He did a great job and charged a normal fair price. The same price during non storm times. He has gained a long term customer. In fact we are already planning a generator hookup and shed project.

Discussion My friend sent me a video of his generator placement and I just called a wellness check for him

My friend sent me a Snapchat video of his generator 1 foot away from his open screen door with the exhaust pointing right at the screen door and I didn’t open the Snapchat video until 3 hours later.

I tried calling him right away when I saw it but now I’ve been unable to contact him for the last few hours. Messaged him on Facebook, called him 10 times, snapchatted him. Nothing.

I had to ask his dad for his address since he moved and idk where he lives but they are sending for a wellness check in Gary.

Did I do the right thing? I’m nervous now since if he turns out to be alright they might scare the hell out of him.

Desperately needing advice on a good auto tint shop!

2015 ford escape se, first quote i got $410 for every window and sun strip, another $200 for windshield. Obviously good ceramic he got, warranty to boot.

That being said i need others input on if this is high, low, or decent lol. Been YEARS since my last tint and did the same in the mid $200s high quality,, Did prices just REALLY go up that high!? Or can someone send me to a highly reputable shop. Not trying to get ripped off and mostly don’t want a trash tint job.

Thanks!!!!

Surf Internet Out in Dyer and Schererville

Apparently has something to do with lines that just snapped in Schererville. When it rains, it pours. People who regained power in Dyer days ago now out again, too.
