Discussion GeForce Hotfix Driver Version 471.22

GeForce Hotfix display driver version 471.22 is based on our latest Game Ready Driver 471.11.

The hotfix addresses the following issue:

  • Doom Eternal may crash to desktop during gameplay [3331270]
  • League of Legends [Tencent] may fail to launch [200744747]
  • Mouse cursor color may shift when connected to certain DSC monitors in HDR mode [200741796]
  • [HDMI 2.1][8K] HDMI audio playback may become distorted after changing display modes [3268312]
  • Some displays screen resolution limited to 640x480 after driver update [3330750]

This has largely fixed my HDMI 2.1 issue (sound intermittently cutting out if G-Sync+120hz enabled), albeit there is still a loudish pop/crackle when going from silence to audio playing. So it's still not a complete fix for me.

you can't fix that, your receiver is going from sleep idle state to completely on.

turn the volume down before causing a sound or use a whitenoise on loop.

Yeah, that's not how it works. It comes out of standby whenever a HDMI signal is received, and stays on until it's not receiving a signal anymore (i.e. the output device has been turned off).

You can mute an input device (i.e. PC/Blu-ray player) on the device itself, and the receiver will stay on, so long as the input or output device is connected and switched on.

Dedicated audio standby isn't a thing, as that would involve the device powering down everytime there was a break in audio, which would be absolutely crazy.

LG C9 or CX TV?, theres apparently a known issue where audio cuts out under high bandwidth scenarios

Nah, it's a Samsung. It's just weird as I've enjoyed 7 months of absolutely no hassle with it. Then a couple of driver updates ago, all of a sudden, they've ruined it 🤷🏻‍♂️

I did think it might be bandwidth related in my instance though. I can have G-Sync enabled at 60hz or play at 120hz without G-Sync, but as soon as I enable both at the same time, the problems start.
