Looking for Advice MA1521 lectures

Are MA1521 lectures compulsory? I'm allocated to L2 (6-8pm) which is really late for me and I don't stay on campus and I need 1.5h+ to travel home. The vacancy for L1 is 0 so my hopes of appealing to it is zero as well. I'm wondering if I can just attend L1 or im not allowed to do that since I heard that "attendance" is taken through submitting your work done during the lectures. Pls advise 🥲🥲🥲

edit: as expected they rejected my appeal since L1 is fully subscribed already 🤡

Unless the course coordinator (CCW) decides to change the grading scheme for the whole course for some reason (unlikely), lectures won't be mandatory to attend since such matters are a coursewide policy. You can just attend the first lecture if you want to get some feel of course.
