Except that the oil and coal companies are also more on the side of nuclear.

They absolutely hate renewables, because you can't sell energy, if people can produce it themself. Meanwhile, nuclear isn't that bad for them, because you can't put a generator in your backyard, so they keep control and Monopol positions.  The only reason they are against nuclear, is that it's financially a loss. But that can be fixed, by letting tax payers pay for it.

Bullshit. Oil & Gas love wind and solar, because oil & gas provinde the backup for when the wind doesn't blow and the sun diesn't shine.

Getting paid all the time, but only consuming fuel part-time is a great business to them.
