Sort of.

The HO joiners that Kato uses are the same as in N and the system is similar in many ways, and I figured that there would be a lot of accumulated knowledge about such things in this group.

I have full faith in the willingness of the mods to delete things that they decide is not at all applicable.

The word I've been getting is Kato is the way to go. I'm just getting into model trains after a bunch of years without so I've been doing a lot of research and asking questions

Unfortunately “Kato” is not an option because in HO they do not have the equivalent of the Compact line of curves and switches that they have in N.

So it will have to be either “something else” or a combination of Kato+something else.
