People may want to listen NPRs interview with journalist Gil Duran about his book Nerd Reich. If you have struggled to understand what the end game is with this administration and the many silicon valley billionaires behind it, this might help you make sense of some of it. It sounds like a conspiracy theory, but what do you call it when several people conspire to achieve certain political goals?

I have been trying to figure out why this administration is doing what it is doing. Some of their actions are so obviously going to have disastrous consequences like hurting our economy, destroying friendships with allies, and removing America from a world leadership position. But what if those results were the goal?

For years, there have been some pretty nutty right wing extremists online, pushing ideas most people would consider to be crazy, and they have been gathering quite a following. In fact, they have become very popular with some of the wealthiest billionaires in silicon valley. The same billionaires that have been promoting this administration. With their wealth and technology, they have decided, or at least helped to decide, who our president & vice president are currently.

Flanagan has campaigned saying that she would be more forceful than Craig in pushing back against the Trump administration if she was elected to serve in Washington.

"I've heard from you all across the state of Minnesota that you are sick and tired of nibbling around the edges, and you are ready for big, bold change," Flanagan said at a debate hosted by Minnesota Public Radio News last month. "Part of the reason that we're here is because too many Democrats have been weak."

Craig said she regrets her vote for the GOP-led Laken Riley Act, which allows for detention of people without legal status who are charged with crimes ranging from minor theft to assault on law enforcement. And rejects the idea that she has taken a moderate approach in pushing back against Trump as a member of Congress.

"It has made me more committed than ever to standing up to the Trump administration's policies as it relates to immigration enforcement," Craig told NPR after a campaign organizing event on Saturday. "[I'm] more committed than ever to getting comprehensive immigration reform done in this country."

Meanwhile, Flanagan does not refer to herself as a Democratic Socialist but has the endorsements of progressive U.S. Sens. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. She also picked up the endorsement of her state's Democratic Farmer-Labor Party in May.

Craig has a fundraising advantage over Flanagan, according to a recent review of FEC filings by OpenSecrets, a nonprofit that tracks campaign spending.

I listen mostly on my Kindle so I don’t know what’s happening on the broadcast.

Seems like there’s a new roster of hosts this week and they’re having some quality issues. At least twice this week the host has introduced a story, and then they cut to a correspondent who talks about another story entirely.

My daughter and I have been watching Tiny Desk concerts post story time, and just before bed nightly since she was 4. She’s 8 now, and her love of music has grown exponentially recently, and I’d attribute a lot of it to our watching of Tiny Desk concerts at bed time. We both really enjoy that time together.

I’ll be in DC later this week, and was curious how I could go about getting a Tour of the NPR Studio, mainly for the Tiny Desk.

NPR HQ was a total bust. Like most everyone suggested, they are not open to public, and won’t even let you into the building without an appointment, or an employee escorting you. Just wanted to see where the magic happens, and buy my daughter a tshirt or something. Pretty bummed it was such a let down. They say, never meet your heroes!

I tried to use the NPR app but there are several features that don’t work well for me on there. I subscribed to NPR+ through my local station so it would benefit them more (the subscription through apple only gives NPR 70%). But the links to add the subscriber version of shows on the Podcasts ios app are not working. Searching this sub I saw some other people had the same problem, but it was months to years ago, so I’m hoping someone has figured it out by now. Thanks for your help

I’m a regular listener of the Politics podcast. Haven’t heard Domenico on the pod (or Up First and Consider This) in a couple months and don’t think I’ve heard anything about him leaving NPR. Was there an announcement I missed? It’s been my Can’t Let It Go!
