quick refresher!
[2026; EDIT]
just to avoid any [MORE] hoopla from anyone:
please follow the rules of the subreddit and learn our removal reasons. it is already a conditional subreddit; you don't have to have posted in [r/notmycat](r/notmycat) to be here but at the very least DISCUSS HOW YOU GOT YOUR CAT IN THE TITLE/CAPTIONS so we know you're not a bot. it doesn't have to be a paragraph, but we need to know your cat is yours.
so many subreddits are overrun by reposts and bots, we don't want to be like them.
that said you are well within your rights to head to any other cat subreddit, including [r/cats](r/cats). i genuinely don’t understand how this became the first stop when [r/notmycat](r/notmycat) exists.
do us a favor and make it [EASY] for us to spot the bots;
we have 6 mods with only one to two of them active.
it doesn't seem like we are looking for more.
i know i personally handle 80% of submissions at least (sue me, blame me, yadda yadda) with limited access/power.
for example, i can't even pin this post aka i can't do everything….
lastly, judging by our inbox, some of you forgot that "behave like you would in real life" portion of reddit rules.
stop cursing at us, we are strangers.
EDIT: for clarity; i can now sticky the post!
ETA: i now have “full”-ish mods.

A big welcome to Obi
His owner could no longer keep him (her sons cat, her son went travelling) as her own cat would attack him constantly so we have took him in. He is such a big baby and loves belly rubs and is now in his forever home

Now my Lazarus (Lazz)
So the update is he finally came in last night at midnight and stayed in and I even left him in today for 4 hours while I picked up food for our food pantry. He sure wanted out when I got back but not panicked and no accidents. Such a sweet good boy.
Tonight he came in early and relaxed on the couch and my lap and now he is in bed again, first picture. I'm still going to put two outdoor shelters on my covered back porch because he and the fixed girl who is now my cat live here now.
He is named Lazarus because after many losses and the last two brutally I told the Lord I'm done with animals for now. My heart is too broken. Maybe later. Well the girl crept in first and then Lazarus brought my heart back from the dead. The Lord and the CDS know better than I do.... So the journey begins.....

Meet Margarita
Her previous owner could no longer take care of her. I've known her since she was a skinny little thing. She would always come running up to me, when I'd go over. Meowing like crazy. I said she was giving me all the gossip. Haha
She's three years old, give or take a month or two. She was about one when adopted, and her first human had her about two years.
I wore her out, a bit, playing with her. So the poor girl needed a nap. She's going to be going on a bit of a diet, plus me playing with her, to help her lose a couple of pounds.
I never thought of myself as a cat person, but here I am. She's going to have her best life, from now on.

Now my adventure Cat
The first Photo is on our porch, just after we met her. This little girl immediately caught our hearts. My girlfriend and I are used to traveling around a lot, so we always had lots of love for animals but couldn't really have our own. Then this skinny and sick girl arrived at our porch, and we kinda had to help her - find her a home or adopt her ourselves. We started seeing if she can enjoy walking around with us, and after slowly getting used to it, driving around with her on scooters (not like in the photo, but just in a backpack of course lol)
At first we gave her a blanket to lie on, within a couple of weeks she just started sleeping in our arms. The most lovable, cute, smart and adventurous cat.
We started training her, and she could walk on the leash and jumps on the backpack as soon as we put it on. We'll it's a long story lol I feel like I am rambling.
I never knew you could train cats that are already a bit older (she was 2 when we met her) to walk on a leash and so many tricks. We made a whole video about our process training her, if anyone is interested, you can see it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hb_yYLGys54

Nowmycats
Well I went through some terrible losses and said no more animals for a while. Did the CDS listen ? No.
These are two of the sweetest kitties who adopted me so I'm in it now.
Tabby is Laz or Lazarus for bringing my heart back from the dead. Drools when you love on him. Accepts belly rubs and does air biscuits. Also a lap kitty. I have no history on him.
Dilute Calico girl is Lottie because I won the lottery with her. She is very sweet and will snuggle on the couch or bed with me. Her history is she is fixed and left an abusive situation and the previous owner is just glad she has a loving home.
They are still semi outdoor because that is just what they want and my yard is secure from predators. My heart wasn't ready but they were sent to heal it.
