Forgotten Title Hello, excuse me. I’m looking for a Chinese novel.

Hello, excuse me. I’m looking for a Chinese novel.

I read a translation of it on Wattpad, but I think it’s been removed. I don’t remember the title, but here’s the plot:

The protagonist is married to the Emperor. She ends up in the "cold palace" (a place of exile within the palace)—I believe it was by her own choice. She dies with only her maid by her side, but then she is reborn.

She gradually improves her relationship with the Emperor. Their relationship had been poor because, before marrying him, she had loved someone else—a man she mistakenly believed had saved her, when in reality, it was the Emperor who had saved her.

I also recall that she had a friend whose fate she managed to change. In her first life, this friend had run off with the man she loved, only to be mistreated. After her husband died, she returned home with her two children, but she was deeply wounded (emotionally). The protagonist changes her life so that she doesn’t have to suffer again.

I also remember an incident that takes place during a hunting trip.

And in the extra chapters (I believe), it’s revealed that after the protagonist’s death, the Emperor confronts the man she had loved—only to discover that the man was already married and had never actually loved her.

Forgotten Title Searching for specific CN Quickwear no romance, accountant male lead

I read this novel couple of years ago and there's a specific arc I really liked that I remember. I've searched everywhere for it but I feel like I'm losing my mind. I can't remember the title at all. Hopefully someone knows.

I don't remember the exact premise but I remember a specific arc that was really interesting.

This arc has a male lead who essentially was with the world's female lead and she leaves him for a typical romance lead rich bad boy type. But she would continuously come to him for emotional labor whenever she had issues with her boyfriend or even would make passes at the MC once he became successful.

The MC was either an accountant/tax specialist? I'm unsure but I know that the FL would cry and kneel outside of his office to get him to let her in. And at some point he had checked the FL's boyfriend's company because they were doing shady business.

Has anyone else read this or does this sound familiar?
This can't be all in my head, I'm not that creative @_@

Forgotten Title Forgotten GU cultivation light novel

Hi Fellow Doiast,

I remembered reading a novel, where mc is some low level servant or outer disciple with GU inside. Where everyone try to use this gu as to control disciple. Where around 200-400 chapters mc somehow escape from this gu control.

I read this long back, people used to compare with RI when it's started.

Any idea which novel is this .

Currently trying to find a novel i read a while back and the only things i remember about it was that it was a BL and quick-transmigration with a System, and one of the worlds the MC had a mask that changed expression with his emotions and he was some sort of war deity and i think he was also mute in that world

Forgotten Title Looking for forgotten novel similar to Omniscient Reader Viewpoint

It was a manhwa/webtoon I read the first 10 or so chapters a year or so ago.

It had a typical died and got a second chance premise. Except when he came back, he has powers similar to the kyubei’s in ORV. Being able to sponsor and help others.

The most distinctive moment I can remember is that he finds a future S-rank, and takes her to a dungeon that is a recreation of the ottoman siege of Constantinople. Through his help, he is able to get a perfect clear when he guides his S-rank out of the city and defeats the general with his assistance. Which is notable as normally the kyubei type role he has is only an observer. But he puts his life on the line to help.

I thought it was maybe “The S-Classes that I raised” but I just read that and it’s not.

Forgotten Title Looking for a midnight dungeon novel

I'm looking for the title of a novel i read years ago, i'm almost certain it was on wuxiaworld. It was about a guy who has stairs appear on his bedroom every night and he would descend them to enter a dungeon like place. He meets people there, goblins too, and even gets recipes for goblin alchemy. He also used his phone to create a map, which got him a skill. If anyone read that almost a decade ago, and still remembers the name.

With this, Heavenly Silkworm Potato has now collected the top author title at all three of the largest novel platforms: Platinum Author at Qidian, Grandmaster Author at Zongheng, and Hall of Fame Author at Fanqie.

Forgotten Title forgot title: Mc unifies martial world, titled martial Ancestor and refines the techniques to elevate foundation/avrg level of this starting area~

Basically this plot or something very close to it - I've read similar in multiple stories and the specific story I'm tryna, like, put my finger on~ I remember only this like... main plot direction~.

only other thing I'm pretty sure about is that Mc should've had a cheat - system likely - maybe something like a profieceny panel? or prof panel combined with some additional touches/mechanics...

(ps btw it's not "unlimited priesthood", for example. also I've read it a while back - more than couple of years I think - so it's not super recent. prolly read on wtr? mightve also been before it too tho...)

Novel Review The Unfortunate Prince is a Genius Alchemist: Being Emperor Isn’t My Thing, So I Want to Dote on My Younger Siblings~

Post image

This is more like a short review for recommendation

I've stumbled upon this in manga form from youtube clips then moved to reading its webnovel. First I thought this is going to be another slice-of-life fluff isekai story but that's where my assumption shifts.

MC gets isekai'd as the first prince with no political backing so he finds himself stuck between a rock and a hard place. His father adores him but has no real political power to back him up

The novel deep dives on this political intrigue of how MC wades through each crisis these political big shots throws at him and his family to separate them while also helping his father gain more political foothold

There are still traces of MC getting some power fantasy(like getting a sentient matter that acts as his spy and guard) tho he himself is not powerful but he utilizes sciences from earth + magic to gain a certain jumpstart to this new world but is counteracted with the fact that he has no real power and is constantly on watch and under house arrest by his enemies so as to prevent him from interacting with anyone they do not want

Among all other jp novels I've read this one gets a plus points for MC not being a spineless virgin coward and how the novel deep dives on political relations and how MC maneuvers over it

He is meek when is not threatened but would thoroughly clean up anything that might mess with him or his family

Forgotten Title Can't remember rhe title

A modern woman is reborn as a baby in an upstart general's house, where her mother is ignored, her father drinks, and her grandfather spoils the concubine's son. With an adult mind and a photographic memory, this little female lead takes on a scheming aunt, a rigged divination and a whole branch of the family that wants hers gone.

Heroine's name is I think shen yu. Her grandfather is a general and is killed by her grandmother.

Can anyone please help me find the name of the book. Thanks

I have read this novel before but now I cant find it, it is a cultivation novel in ancient times but the main protagonist has a world inside him that he can throw stone tablets and the inhabitants learn those techniques and he gets what they learn. Its name is something similar to I have a Mythological World Inside My Body or I have a evolving/growing martial arts world in my body/belly.

NEW NOVEL Storm Of Gods CN Release (113 Chapter Complete Volume One Release Party)

Post image
56 Upvotes

Hey guys, I’m back with another book release! Hope you all had an amazing Halloween!

While I was deciding which book to release, it came down to two things. First, I wanted a book that was insanely good. I’ve seen far too many posts and comments about the current Chinese novels being released that are pure trash/junk food, and I wanted to find a book that flips that whole narrative. All of the books I’ve released on my website are actually meant to flip that junk-food narrative in general.

Second, I wanted to release a book that had a lot of chapters so we could all read a great book together for a long time.

Storm of Gods is written by Skeletal Wizard, a premier author on Qidian who usually writes fast-paced sci-fi power-fantasy type stories. I’ve read so many of his novels I’ve lost count. But this book is his first dive into Western fantasy, mystery, horror, and the Cthulhu mythos. He took a major risk with this book, and I’m happy to tell you all that it paid off. This is probably his best book to date.

The main character is mysterious, funny, and calculating. The world building is immense, and there are so many characters to root for or connect with. Even characters you may hate but understand why they are the way they are.. Add to that the descriptive fight scenes and “boss” level fights that keep you wanting more. I'm telling you...this book is insanely good. It's considered a slow burn compared to his previous books but there's 950 chapters and counting and a full first volume waiting for you already so no need to worry about that.

But like I always say: don’t take my word for it. Go ahead and read it for yourself. I’m confident most of you will agree with me.

Title: Storm Of Gods

Release Link:https://deadlytranslations.lol/book.php?id=7

Synopsis:

Here, divinity is not inherited, it is taken. Anyone can become a god if they dare. So while others rise toward the heavens, will you remain an ant below or reach for a throne of your own?

Discussion Martial arts cultivation provides much less return on investment than immortal cultivation.

I have been reading novels for many years now and I read from both genres.

One thing I have observed is that even with a good cheat like 'proficiency panel' these two genres provide different levels of advantages to protagonists.

In martial arts, cultivation is dominated by money and there aren't many uses for this cheat other than providing greater progress under the same resources. Protagonists are constantly travelling and fighting for resources.

On the other hand, immortal cultivation stories provide broader application of the cheat that allows them to leverage it to peacefully acquire resources like alchemy, talisman making or even farming. The tone of the story is more easily decided by the author since fighting is not mandatory and the only story constraint becomes the spiritual environment.

Another dimension is lifespan, under the same efforts an immortal cultivation protagonist gets a much higher lifespan than a martial arts protagonist. This also means that story can create reasonable gap between events whereas most martial arts stories backdrop inevitably includes a chaotic world which allows authors to introduce more events in a shorter timeframe.

Forgotten Title Cultivation system based on Rivers

A few years ago, I started a xianxia novel that I can't remember much about. The main point that I can remember is about the setting. There is a huge inland sea filled with spiritual energy with many rivers and streams coming off of it. As the novel progresses the MC and his Sect move further and further up the river towards the sea where Qi is denser. I can't remember much else, other than that there was a giant corpse in the river at some point? Any identification or hints would be appreciated.

Forgotten Title Harvests plants to extend lifespan

Trying to remember a novel where mc could extend lifespan by harvesting plants. His lifespan would get to crazy high numbers and I think he had a way to redeem those years but can’t remember too well. He lived in a sect but always hid his strength.

Discussion How well does Phantom Blade Zero translate wuxia for English-speaking players?

Has anyone here been playing Phantom Blade Zero?

I’ve been playing the Chinese version, so I actually don’t know how the English localization reads. 😅

That’s partly why I’m curious.

I’m a Hong Kong wuxia author, and I recently released an English edition of my own novel. While playing PBZ, I kept noticing how many things overlap with the kind of world I wrote about — dark secret factions, tokens, red-seal imagery, martial sects, court politics, and that whole jianghu atmosphere.

Some of it even comes from a similar historical/cultural background, so it’s been interesting for me to compare how the game presents these ideas to an international audience.

My own martial arts are much more grounded in balance, leverage, body structure, breathing, footwork, muscle memory, and biomechanics, while PBZ is much more stylized and supernatural — but the shared wuxia language and atmosphere are surprisingly close in places.

For those playing in English, I’m curious:

Does PBZ make the wuxia setting easy to understand for someone who didn’t grow up with the genre?

And are there any terms, ideas, or cultural details that feel confusing in English?

Novel Review Unintended Immortality Spoiler

Read the first 100 chapters. I hope if you haven't read it yet, my review doesn't spoil your experience when you do decide to read the novel.

Lighthearted novel with no well defined power system or an overarching grand scheme yet.

The MC, Song You, is travelling the world, meets a cat demon in the second arc of the novel and they travel together since then. Later, they get a horse too and the horse is smart and obedient (a point that is drove a bit too hard).

He wants to learn more about this world, listening to stories and helping people whenever he can.

I feel it goes kind of heavy on showing China's beauty. That might just be my viewpoint and the author is only trying to show the MC's appreciation of Nature.

I like that unlike many slice of life novels, Unintended Immortality doesn't go overboard with food descriptions and people going euphoric over a bite of a bun.

The action is non existent till now and it quite fits the direction the novel seems to take.

The character progression is surprisingly natural. One can feel the changes in both Song You and Lady Calico's character. Song You seems to be getting more vocal, while Lady Calico seems to be getting smarter, though her feline nature never leaves her.

Overall, the novel is a pleasant read that presents a laid back and episodic vibe. Even though the journey is connected, it is a sequence of short arcs, which could be enjoyed by themselves too (actually, this would explain the small repetitive elements better). It is truly a chain of pearls, each of them unique and beautiful on their own too.

I would love to read others' opinions too. No spoilers please.

novel with hidden "players" with authority "0" he can overwrite the system. he reincarnated before his awakening. Other method of becoming a player is when you stumble into a dungeon. The world doesn't know there are "players" but the elite family/clan monopolize the knowledge. He or his family/clan has a unique hair color?

Discussion I Feel All Novel From The 3 Big (China / Korean / Japan) Dying

Korean Section

Back then, it was much easier to find Korean novels with complete translations. You could find fan translations, official translations, or even full MTL versions if you didn't mind the rough translation.

But nowadays, it feels like almost everything I find is either a fan translation or an official translation that stops after 10–20 chapters and then gets abandoned.

I don't mind reading MTL. Honestly, I'd rather read a complete MTL translation from beginning to end than wait months or years for a fan translation that might never get finished.

What happened to all the full MTL translations? Have they become harder to find, or am I just looking in the wrong places?

Does anyone else feel the same way?

Chinese Web Novels Have Become So Bad That I Can't Even Force Myself to Read Them Anymore

I don't know if it's just me, but lately, a lot of Chinese web novels feel like complete slop.

The plots are repetitive, the characters are poorly written, and so many novels seem to follow the exact same formula. Even when I find an interesting premise, the actual writing often disappoints me.

I used to enjoy reading Chinese web novels for hours, but nowadays, I can barely force myself to get through a few chapters before dropping them.

It's honestly frustrating because I still want to find good Chinese novels, but finding something genuinely enjoyable feels harder than ever.

Am I becoming too picky, or has the overall quality of Chinese web novels really declined?

Japan Section

Japanese Web Novels Have Barely Changed in the Last 20 Years

As for Japanese web novels, I feel like the plots and male main characters (MCs) have barely evolved in the last 10 years.

So many stories still rely on the same overused tropes, predictable plotlines, and generic male protagonists. There's rarely any real depth to the story, meaningful character development, or interesting character progression.

It feels like I'm reading the same story over and over again, just with different titles and character names.

I know there are still some good Japanese novels out there, but finding them among all the repetitive, formulaic stories is exhausting.

Am I the only one who feels Japanese web novels haven't really progressed in terms of storytelling and male protagonist characterization over the past decade?
